Even if this is not even real, the Yanks will get Scherzer. They aren't sitting on the sidelines, they target the best of the best and sign them. I think the bidding will get to be pretty high on Lester between the Cubs and Red Sox though.

Buehrle

Stroman

Hutch

 

Allows us to have more depth and quality in our rotation. We'd stash Happ (if we don't trade him) and Estrada in the pen while Sanchez hangs about in AAA

One of the reasons Shields has value is because of his durability but with Dickey and Buehrle being good for 400 innings I think you can have a pitcher that has a bit more risk and higher reward. I don't even think we need another SP tbh. 2B, LF and the bullpen are all much bigger needs than a starter.

Lowrie would be a great get for 2B. He's got some upside and can handle SS if Reyes goes down. It would be nice to have some real competition for D. Travis.

For a guy who is going to cost at least 15 million per season and will cost a draft pick I don't think its worth it. Much better spending money elsewhere.

I don't like this. Scherzer doesn't seem like a guy who's going to pitch well when he loses his velo.

 

Got to say this will entertain me when all these moves are being made by the Yankees, Jays and Red Sox...then we see the Rays and O's challenging for the division title (okay the O's contending again will not entertain me one bit). I left because Orientation week starting at my school killed me, I was commuting from Toronto to Guelph at the time by TTC and Go Transit (3 hours one way!), and that was about the same time I started to move as well (my family were looking for an excuse to move to Mitlon) so I would go to Guelph for the entire day and come back at night to pack and stuff it just became so tiring lol

My marks are awesome but commuting is a bitch lol. Right now I'm studying for my ECON exam actually! We should meet up sometime or something, but I probably won't be on campus until second semester starts (apart from doing my exams of course lol)
