James Paxton, LHP

6-3, 2.06 ERA

The rookie southpaw provided Seattle's rotation a big lift after getting healthy the final two months and has the fourth-lowest ERA of any pitcher in MLB history for their first 15 career starts at 1.91. The Canadian native has never faced Toronto.

J.A. Happ, LHP

Happ will make his second-to-last start of the season at Rogers Centre. He's coming off an outing in which he allowed a pair of costly home runs to Baltimore's Steve Pearce. It was the sixth time this year he allowed multiple homers in a game.

That's how I feel about our defense and the bottom of our lineup

Oh i agree with you.

But there's other baseball games you can watch or Monday night football. Provincial election coverage over sports. Ca mon, man. You can read about that whenever.

FTR, I am choosing to watch provincial election coverage tonight instead of this game

Hmmmmmm, seppuku seems like a more pleasant option over these two choices. :)

I will still watch the game but this line up is really a gut-wrenching, vomit-inducing reaction to opening day lineup.

Paxton has the most clunky delivery and now he's destroying Mariners play off hopes.

Playing upset in sept is what the blue jays are all about

Ironic that it's Valencia securing kc playoff hopes

Dont' these dolts know how to slide? He should have been sliding towards the outside of the bag, not the inside. A hook slide would have been the best.

What a waste of a call. They will need it later.

The f*** are you talking about

Valencia slid like an idiot, aiming his foot to the inside part of the bag instead of the outside. It was so close that they had to waste a challenge on a fundamentally bad play. You'd think a professional player would know how to do something as basic as slide. This team is full of players that can't do the basics.

That's what I'm f***ing talking about.

I not watching on TV but based on MLB gameday the Blue Jays won the challenge so they don't lose their challenge. I guess we should all start dumping on Valencia for getting a 3 run double and then scoring a run!

I still hate bad baseball and this team is full of s*** players.

With so much to complain about on this team, you want to complain about a bad safe slide. Just keep watching, I am sure the Jays can do several things tonight that are far worse.

But for now, I will give the Jays credit for being ahead.

I knew it wouldn't take long for fans to give up on Pompey. After all he starting in what, his 3rd(?) game already and look at his low batting average :)

Gotta love Bautista, even with his stats he unselfishly walks in a run instead of taking a wild swing at ball 4.

He's been amazing at the plate all year. Complete hitter now more than he used to be. But many will just see fewer home runs than previous and think he's not as good.
