Why are they asking Mike Wilner, isn't he just a broadcaster?

 

Regarding todays game, before Jetters double it appeared to me that he swung for strike 3 but it was called a checked swing. After that, I figured that everyone including the Blue Jays were rooting for Jetter since no one complained. Can anyone imagine that swing being called a checked swing for players like Goins, Gose, Pompey ...

I don't see how that is baiting him. His response seems very rational to me. I think Goins should be on the Blue Jays roster next year and should be played; if he helps the team then he should continue playing regularly, if he doesn't then he can be used as a defensive replacement late in games. Watching a Blue Jays team that makes game losing plays on a regular basis is certainly no fun and will not lead to the post-season.

Ryan Goins should be in AAA used as depth in case someone get's injured.

Uhm, among many reasons why the Jays won't make the playoffs. But Goins should not have been in 50+ games this year. That's a problem. I'm not even sure if he should be used a bench player next year. There should be better options but it's not like the Jays will be in the post season anyways so I guess if they found themselves a cheap non useful player, they might as well go with him because the key part of that is 'cheap'.

Hopefully the Jays will look for a 2B in the offseason so that Goins is in AAA and Kawasaki is on the bench as a utility player. Oh, and Izturis returns BTW.

Yes, but the problem is the "baiters" are morons, too. Horrible questions, and he actually answered them correctly. It doesn't take much to trip Wilner up and make him look silly ... and yet, the alleged (and self-professed) "smarter guys in the room" failed miserably.
