BTS Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=7355&position=P&pitch=FA Doesn't look like he's been getting worse in-season. Sadly, it's part of a steady season to season decline. Ouch. He might just be finished as a good reliever. It really is a shame they didn't sell.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 You can't sell everyone at the top of their game. The Jays had expectations to contend at the start of 2013 and he was the most reliable guy in the bullpen at the time....sadly he STILL might be. I don't find any fault in not "selling high" on Janssen. That still doesn't excuse the fact that the Jays had two relievers not named Janssen in last year's all-star game and that didn't result in dealing from strength.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 At his current level, a reasonable salary is like 600K + a bonus or two. Velo down to 89 and he's not fooling anybody. Happend after he took a vacation down to Cuba during the all star break. Got sick.lost tons of muscle
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 So... We're done with Casey? When was his last clean inning?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Sucks because he's easily one of the most likeable guys on a roster filled with jackasses. I'll always love him for making the pair of binoculors out of timmy's coffee cups after the man in white crap
