Slider Verified Member Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 All I know if the Jay's do not make the playoffs this year. Either Gibby or AA (hopefully both) will be fired. One of them has to be fired atleast.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I would trade Bautista this offseason in a heartbeat ..... He still has 2 years left at a very very reasonable salary and he will be coming off a pretty great year. Both him and Edwin could net us some major packages in return adding to what already is looking like some great depth of young arms.

We can afford to keep these guys and supplement the core. If you trade anyone, it should be either Buehrle or Dickey.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Gibbons never calls the hit and run (as opposed to the other teams), chooses doubtful match-ups such as putting Valencia VS RHP all the time, putting Loup VS back to back righties in small ballparks, etc. He's possibly one of the worst managers in the AL, no joke. However, even if you fire him, this team in its current state will still blow. Another starting pitcher is a must if this team wants to be relevant in 2015. And get rid of Dickey or Buerlhe ASAP, preferably Buerlhe.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Who did you want him to play instead of Valencia? Also, Loup's one of very few dependable relievers Gibby has to work with. Seems like your gripe should be with Gibby's bosses. Well, how about Francisco, for starters. I agree, Loup is dependable, but I find it sketchy that he would put him against a bunch of righties in that Houston ballpark. He had other options like Sanchez, at the time. That's just one example though.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Francisco has played in 93 of the team's 106 games since being called up and has only missed two games since Valencia was acquired. There's nothing there. Loup has had a couple bad games this season, sure. But I don't think he's been misused at all. Gibby is a fine tactical manager. Yes but over the last week, how many games did Francisco start against a RHP starter? It seems like Valencia was starting at his spot VS RHP, and he usually struggles with hitting right handers...

He plays pretty much every game. And I'm okay with Gibby changing it up every so often to give a day off.

I may be mistaken though but Francisco should start every game against RHP, not including his off day here and there, obviously.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I didn't want the below to be my first ever thread, so I thought I'd post it here: http://www.torontosun.com/2014/08/16/blue-jays-gm-alex-anthopoulos-set-to-return-next-year Not from a great source, but I've been saying I don't see AA being let go, let alone Beeston so maybe the AA bashers should whine for one last time and then deal with it.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Probably a pointless post, but are you embarrassed? I just realized I am and I'm looking for redemption after being a fan so long and seeing no results. At least we made it to August this year I guess, that's something. Im not embarrassed. Im confused and really pissed off. I have no idea of the direction of mgm with this team anymore and we had a real shot THIS YR we f***ed up twice - 2013 off season and again at deadline. Not as optimistic as some on "young cheap rotation of future".
Jim_Ackers_balls Verified Member Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I'm sick of this organization being run like they are poor, when Rogers spent billions on having broadcasting rights to the NHL. On top of it, these *******s put a statue of Ted Rogers outside of the Rogers Centre like they think they have accomplished anything under this ownership group. They talk about all of the Jays players like they are some sort of stars. Bautista is a s***** excuse for a leader. Lawrie will never amount to anything. The roster is littered with players that should be in AAA, not on a team that should be first division (and is marketed as such). Management and the coaching is subpar. I wish Rogers would sell the team and go ruin something else.
