Yeah. It is a shame though cause I think he could have helped the pen next year. I liked his stuff.

Nonsense. One session of a higher period of work doesn't destroy an arm (maybe it does for blisters like Al Leiter)...and even if it did, then maybe he just wasn't cut out to be an MLB pitcher and it's best this happens now then in the middle of next year where the Jays are scrambling to find a replacement.

I was speaking generally when originally writing that statement.

 

And then I happened to take a look at his actual workload, and it was pretty shocking. Made a much more compelling case for applying the logic here, rather than just speaking generally about overuse. There's certainly correlation, if not causation.

 

Seems very shorted of the team to have used this guy like cannon fodder. This isn't Chad Jenkins, he potentially could have been the team's setup guy by now.

He could have been a great addition to the pen. I feel for him if he needs it since he might have been able to have it earlier this year and come back sooner next year rather than likely missing all of next season. Oh well, just in time to be outrighted off the roster at year's end to AA can fill it with another AAAA pitcher that will wind up off the roster by June.

Actually, for the time being, we can put him on the 60-day DL if we need a 40-man spot.

Has Andrews ever NOT recommended TJS? And why is there only one doc that works in all baseball players? Dude has a friggin monopoly.
