I'd certainly give him a bit more money to stay. He's had a great year and there isn't anyone to replace him. Maybe he'll take a little less each year for the guarantee of a 3 year deal?

How Reyes ever won a batting title is beyond me. Swings wildly at bad pitches, fouls a lot (bad contact), doesn't have an idea at the plate.

The Jays have a lot going for them. They gave Melky a shot post PED. Melky likes it here. The Jays have EE and Jose Bautista signed to very cheap contracts. You go to Melky and say we'll give you 3 years 36...that's more than EE got....back load the contract a bit....Melky has more than earned 3 years 36 this year.
