Jays:


  • Stroman is 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA in his four starts, though he's looking to give the Blue Jays a better performance after throwing 98 pitches in 3 2-3 innings of a 3-1 loss to the Yankees on Tuesday. The rookie right-hander allowed three walks, four hits and two runs in his shortest outing since joining the rotation.
  • Edwin Encarnacion hit his major league-leading 24th home run and Melky Cabrera added two hits Sunday, but Toronto lost for the 11th time in 15 games. Former Yankee Cabrera has six homers and 14 RBIs during a 19-game hitting streak against New York.
  • With a two-run single in the third inning of the Blue Jays' loss to the Reds on Sunday, Colby Rasmus extended his hitting streak to five games. The Toronto outfielder has hit safely in each game since his return from the disabled list and has three multi-hit games.

 

Yankees:

  • Whitley won this match up last Tuesday, as he went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on a walk and 2 strikeouts
  • Gardner went 6 for 12 with a home run, double and two RBIs in last week's series against the Blue Jays, including a season-best four-hit effort to help make a winner out of Chase Whitley in Wednesday's 7-3 victory.
  • The Yankees scored at least six runs in two of the three games against the Blue Jays last week. During a three-game series with the Orioles this weekend, New York scored just six runs total.

We need to get a 15th round draft pick that has been a reliever in the minors with a few starts in AA to step up and pitch like a top of the order guy.

 

Oh wait ,that's Whitley and he pitches for the Yanks.

When these guys talk about Daniel Murphy have they thought at all about his defense. Bonifacio is a gold glover compared to Murphy

 

He has amassed a career DRS of _31 in 3and a half seasons
