This.

It doesnt sting at all.

If 190k ends up being the difference between a good and bad draft - you have a whole host of other issues.

Everything beyond this point is a bonus.

People need to stop viewing the draft like it went down last year. Normally you sign your top picks and dont have to worry about nickel and diming outside of the top 10.

Also maybe they knew they could only have one of lane thomas or ZZ and didnt care about the forfeited allocation.

Its more likely ZZ just reneged on a deal, but im just making the point that you need to think outside the confines of the slotting system.

Ill take quality over quantity anyday.

ZZ unsigned was a fail, but......Hoffman (best RHP in the draft), Pentecost (best catcher in the draft), Reid-Foley (Underrated and funny pimp), Lane Thomas (Toolsy INF/OF), Nick Wells ( "Big strong projectable lefty"), Morgan (low ceiling, high floor catcher).

Great draft. I love Parker.

Quinn Carpenter, Houck, Heigt, Murphy and/or Issacs could be the icing on the cake.

In my opinion, Jays had a great draft this summer. Throwing a debate question out there, Does this allow management to be a little less conservative about top prospects possessed at the moment?

They should offer him the minimum and when he doesn't accept they could have 1/2 next year. Cameron + Matuella.

there is too much competition for the 1.

Dude, that's not about the Jays. People around here now have it out for you.

It just seemes like this thread became about th draft in general - this was the only real draft thread.

Of the guys left unsigned, any of them big talents? And any possible chance to grab them still?

Houck, Quinn Carpenter, Murphy

I know lol. I don't mind it - but I've posted about players signing with other teams and some people have gotten mad at me. "This is the Jays draft thread!!". Bizarre.

Get over it cupcake! Lol

I don't understand why people would be irritated hearing about other teams players getting inked.

Cause I can read and understand the title to the topic of the thread.

And that day ever thread I read seemed to go off the rails and GD the cyber ass was pissing me off!

And king got it! Lol

Sorry king! :(

$100k. @SJE32: @BlueJays officially signed Gunnar Heidt. Has there been any dollar amount disclosed? Thanks @MLBDraft

Quinn Carpenter needs elbow surgery

Maybe he found out when the Jays practiced him the medical examination #100K

JJ has it right. He followed that up with how much of a mess it will be when the draft goes international.

It's never a question of more or less rules, really. It's a question about well thought out rules. Just because they screw up what they wrote, doesn't mean nothing should have been written. They just need fewer incompetents negotiating and drafting these things. Guessing that 2+2=5 doesn't mean we should have "less math".

the MLBPA sold out the amateurs and always will. I got to say that the Astros should be forced to honour their contract to Nix regardless of what happens with Aiken.
