I disagree. I really thought he was going to that when he first came to the plate. You have a pitcher on the rope so you look for something good to hit. That looked right down the middle but it could be Franscisco was getting the feel for Guthrie's velocity. Anyway, it's a lost opportunity for runs but at least the pitcher count is way up for a first inning.

 

Getting a feel for his velocity? He just witnessed five ABs.. When a MLB pitcher who just battled through some tough ABs by great hitters walks the bases loaded, you look first pitch fastball and be ready to to put a good swing on it if it's there.
