Notes:

MLB:

  • No Important Notes Today.

Jays:

  • Toronto claimed Hendriks off waivers from the Orioles during Spring Training and assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo, where he was 5-0 with a 1.48 ERA in nine appearances (seven starts).
  • Encarnacion's 11 home runs in May are the most he's hit in a calendar month in his career (he had never previously reached double digits in home runs in a single month). Encarnacion leads the AL with 28 extra-base hits. Eight have come in his last seven games, along with 12 RBIs.
  • At 26-22, the Blue Jays are in first place on the latest date during a season since being at the top of the AL East standings on May 23, 2009.

Athletics:

  • Kasmir's start Saturday was cut short as he was ejected for arguing balls and strikes after 1 1-3 innings. He gave up one run and walked three in a 6-2 win over Cleveland. Kazmir has gone 4-5 with a 3.80 ERA in 15 outings against the Blue Jays, last facing them in 2010.
  • With his 2-for-3 performance for the A's on Thursday, Josh Donaldson has reached base in 27 consecutive road games dating to Sept. 28 of last season. That ties him for the longest such streak in club history with Eric Chavez, who also reached base in 27 straight road games from July 22 to Sept. 16, 2005.
  • The A's enter this contest having won 11 of 13. Oakland, a major league best 18-7 on the road, has won eight of the last 11 meetings in Toronto.

Would be nice to win the series, but I'm okay with taking 1 game this weekend.

Sunday may be a potential sellout

This is also a statement game for Oakland as well. Oakland's early sked has been really soft.. and they're only .500 vs. Texas and Seattle, and mostly have fattened up on Houston, Minnesota, and an injured Washington team.

The last AL East opponent they faced in Boston, they lost 2 of 3 to the Red Sox.

Oakland has a +96 RD. That is a very very good baseball team.

The A's are legit, but I don't think they are quite as good as their record, they will cool off a bit, but they have the better pitching matchups this series, hope we win 2 out of 3, but I would be lying if I wasn't worried about this series.

They are a very good team, but the way our lineup is going right now, I think this could be an exciting series.
