o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 With the Yankees loss official, Jays are in sole possesion of first place in the American League East Will it last? Don't know. But I'm sure enjoying it right now. Good job boys. Toronto 26-22 Baltimore 23-21 NY Yankees 24-22 Boston 20-26 Tampa Bay 20-28 we will have to be very lucky against Oakland this weekend. they have been killing it and will be hard to match up with.
Convo Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Lol. Might have gotten into the white liquor last night. Yes. More likely a drunken stupor ala Rob Ford.

Likely won't see much of the series. But I think we will be in good shape if we can take game 1. The way our hitting is going i don't want to count anything out. Our 6 runs a game will stop eventually and come back down to earth it just can't be this series lol.

Not that it matter because it doesn't but the A's have only played one team (Angels) that are more than 2 games above .500 at this point. Not saying they have had it easy. Just saying that they have not been tested very much by true contenders.
Smedley Butler Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 We take 1 of 3, I'm content. 2 of 3, we party.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Their two best pitchers are pitching this series. Gonna be tough but Rogers Centre is a hitter's park. They will have to pitch more carefully
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Hopefully an ump goes all jerry lane on Kazmir again

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Their BEST pitcher pitched last night. Fair enough but Kazmir is damn good
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Sure I will take one of those guys in place of Happ. But we need a front of the rotation guy. We currently don't have one and can't expect MB to continue to pitch the way he is. Hutch looks like he could be a solid 3. But we need that #1. With our D and O we don't need a #1. We need a solid 2/3 guy. We wont get a #1 anyway imo. Our 92 and 93 really didn't have a 1 or at least Cone, Morris and Stewart didn't pitch like one much. Was Hengten or Guzman or Stotelemyre a #1? Maybe PH one season when he won CY. We had 1s in Halladay and Clemens and didn't get far. We don't need great. We need good enough in rotation.
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I am pretty scared of this series. I really hope this is not as bad as the Wakefield shenanigan of 2009.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Fair enough but Kazmir is damn good Yup we need our 3,4,5 to stay hot. Right now they are not missing their pitches. If that keeps happening anything can happen.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 I would also like an explanation of this lol. BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Like most Jays fans I have thought of how much fun post season games might be as a fan! And am reminded that most have wished to see them win the World Series again or for the first time for others here. Question is does that mean were all gonna die if they do! Lol
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I want to see this team create a bit more distance. Boston plays the Rays this weekend, so it's a great opportunity to put up some more distance and make it a huge hurdle for those teams to overcome.
SparkyAnderson Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 This series vs Oakland could be trouble. If they can take 2 out of 3 I would be thrilled but the pitching match ups look rough.
shortstop Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 yes, 2 out of 3 would be great & a real momentum builder moving forward...A's are a tough team to win against and their road record is great this year.. when should I buy my flexpack so playoff seats are guaranteed
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 we'll be lucky to win one game with those pitching match ups.. yikes
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Jays need to go on a nice series winning streak.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 This next stretch of 15 or so home games will be key
Bunchedundies Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Don't like the pitching matchups this series, need dickey to be on his game. Winning the first game of this series would be great, don't like the matchups the last 2 games. We really need another starter.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Cecil, Robert Ray, Janssen, Scott Richmond, and Tallet Ugh, I must have blocked this out.
