Newbie to posting on Board migrating from old Pretty impressive place.

Have been mostly reading on old Board and some posting since about 2006. Joined here last year but couldn't quite make the change at the start of this new one. Not easy to break in. Started in looking at it a few days ago and impressed with its functionality; lots of knowledgeable posters, and some good laughs.

 

I love my Jays. Die hard.

 

Cant really take f***tards like SEMPAI on old board and its pretty cleaned out. Too many frantic chicken little threads and a troll paradise. Some good ones still there though.

 

Anyway...just wanted to say I'm enjoying this Board and the Jays are crushin' it!

Sempai is insufferable. Dogg/Zee are a complete sideshow that takes away from any semblance of a good board. DJ Blu Ray isn't the smartest guy around but you know what? He's an unapologetic Jays fan who stands behind his beliefs and I can absolutely respect that. He's more than welcome here.

I don't know...haven't been paying too much attn. lately and reading this Board more. The insufferable negativity and whining over EVERYTHING has died down over there some with the Jays rolling now but still its a pretty reactionary place. some good posters there still trying to maintain some perspective and balance. There is more than enough "trade Navarro, Goins and Diaz for Price" threads and comments to go around still though.

This is a tough one that I've never understood. How can the announcers, 9 times out of 10 call the kind of pitch that's coming up? I guess it's like reporting the weather, but I've never really understood that either. I don't need a weather explanation but it boggles my mind sometimes how announcers predict exactly what is going to happen of of a pitch.

 

I think they get the scouting reports too.

2. JPA or JPR? JPR pissed me off mega and JPA was a guy who played marginal D and put up historically bad OBP numbers and a ridiculous K rate blaming media for his numbers. Im not surprised he is now playing in the deepest part of Buttf***, Texas now where Im sure he will again shoot to resurrect himself with another AAA MVP award. Sayonara.

3. Love his glove but he just has a horrendous swing and approach. Id LIKE to say yes but unless he can somehow find a way to get his OBP to a more reasonable number, and at least be able to make productive outs I think not. Too hard to get enough WAR contribution from ONLY D to stick.

4. Are you kidding me? The TOP 4 in this line up are going to have a nickname around the AL by end of season and put up epic numbers (DOMCO - ok, well maybe not that). Bell, Fernandez and a long history of great Doms for this team. These guys can flat out play. Saw a documentary Brunt did on EE and where he came from and the struggles he faced. Quality piece. I love his story and to think we DFA'ed him. So my answer is yes.

Seriously though. Only metallica song I've heard that I liked was St. Anger, although I've never really sat through their albums to be a better judge, mainly just heard their singles and better known stuff, to be honest. But what I HAVE heard didn't do it for me.

 

One of my buddies tried to turn me on to Sepultura. "Roots" is great, love to lift to that s***, but all else sucked. Slipknot is really the only metal I love, and even then they're pretty commercial, not at all hardcore.
