jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Liam Hendriks tomorrow, RA Dickey on Sat. No idea why they changed.. possibly it might be because Hendriks would be on regular rest tomorrow.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Lets go Oakland, Cleveland, and CWS. As long as Oakland beats the Rays though, I'm good. Well a Yankee loss puts the Jays in first come end of day. Was hoping the Rays would lose, but at least there is some good distance between them and the Jays right now.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Nice series, boys. Tough one in Oakland up next. It's going to be tough but the Jays can really make a statement this weekend with a good series. They have won 13/18, so let's just keep this trend going.

We still need an another arm but our O and D are plenty.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Well, we have a decent shot. Oakland has really yet to play a true AL contender outside of the LA Angels. All of the AL competition they've faced are all below .500, outside of the Angels, who they're 2-1 against. This series and next will test the A's, when they face decent opponents that are contending. For some reason, I see their current record and run differential as deceptive due to the weak schedule they've had. Starting this series, the A's are going to be seriously tested, with big series against us, the Tigers, Angels, Yankees and Orioles. With the Angels closing in, the A's are going to have to hope their pitching holds up. Just FYI, here's what the A's sked has been like so far: (source: Baseball Reference) W L RS RA .PCT BOS 1 2 7 15 .333 CHW 2 1 18 8 .667 CLE 4 2 40 15 .667 HOU 5 2 48 25 .714 LAA 2 1 17 16 .667 MIN 3 0 21 8 1.000 SEA 5 5 31 33 .500 TBR 2 1 8 7 .666 TEX 3 3 32 16 .500 WSN 3 0 21 4 1.000 Beating Minnesota, Cleveland and a hurt Washington team is one thing... can they do it against potential contending teams?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Baltimore and Cleveland still fighting it out in the 11th... tied 6-6.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Baltimore and Cleveland still fighting it out in the 11th... tied 6-6. Still tied at the top of the 13th, Machado left with a groin injury.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Yankees lost but made it interesting and very close in the 9th.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Still tied at the top of the 13th, Machado left with a groin injury. So, is he going to be one of those "great when healthy, not healthy often" kinda dudes now?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Still tied at the top of the 13th, Machado left with a groin injury. And now Patton just gave up a 2-run double to Carlos Santana.

We still need an another arm but our O and D are plenty. Yep Lineup is absolutely killer. Defense is good even as is, was even better with Goins/Diaz instead of the current IF but I'll take all the extra runs on offense thank you very much. We need to clean up the BP - Rogers DFA, figure out who we can rely on the the 8th (I vote Cecil and McGowan) We need another good starter to go with Dickey/Hutch/Buerhrle. It might come from within (Hendricks, Stroman, Nolin) or might require a mid season trade. But this team really is pretty good.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 So, is he going to be one of those "great when healthy, not healthy often" kinda dudes now? I don't have an answer for that but you can ask ElNik2013. Waittttttt, I forgot that particular crystal ball is defective - predicted the Jays were going to lose these last two games against the BoSox before a pitch was even thrown.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 And now Patton just gave up a 2-run double to Carlos Santana. That's some battle taking place there. O's got 1 back so far,

IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Looks like the stars were aligned for the most part for the Jays tonight - Yankees, O's, BoSox lost.

We aren't the only ones hunting with the triage in the rotations in the AL EAST.
