So is Spittin tanking? He's had 3 guys IR eligible, and a DTD eligible and hasn't done squat, this was supposed to be his sport and we were all in trouble, 4 weeks in DGAF!!!

My auction keeper money league is drafting tonight and needs a last minute replacement owner. Auction is at 9 EST.

 

It's a neat little league. The team you'd take over has Matthews, Taveras, Johnny G, two good goalies, and some other decent keepers (eight keepers).

It's h2h points. The top half of the league plays for money. You throw in $100 and the roto champ (total points in the season) wins the cash. But it's h2h with playoffs so even the bottom half not in the money has incentive. It's a relegation system as far as top and bottom halves and the money are concerned - if you finish in the top half you qualify next season for the money loop and if you fail to finish in the top half in points you get relegated to the non-cash division.

 

The custom points system basically just values good players, so it's very intuitive. Goals are worth more than apples, blocks and faceoffs won are positive events, etc.

 

The auction budgets are also used for waiver claims and carry over year to year, which is another cool feature. So you can go all out in the auction and f*** up your future (Dinger did this in the hockey league and corresponding baseball league and then quit both). Most people do not spend anywhere close to their auction budget at auction.

 

If anyone is interested let me know! The team you'd take over is in the money but you would not have to throw in $100 this season if you don't want. The team finished 5th last year. You could probably tweak your keepers if you want. The auction budget is middle of the pack. Nox is the guy who runs this league. Couple other board members are in it plus some of his huge f***ing nerd friends. There is an MLB coach in the league (his team sucks).

Not true, I quit because Nox checkmated those leagues with no end in sight. He had like Crosby-Malkin-Ovechkin and Trout-Harper-Stanton due to the incompetence and easy prey of other owners. I blew out my budgets because I knew I wasn’t going to stick around and get pummeled by a juggernaut for 3-5 years, and so like any good socialist I decided to run up a deficit and skip out on the bill.

He barely ever wins these leagues, despite the cores. I won the hockey league last season. It's not super hard to retool because of the shallow amount of keepers. It's very possible to pick up or acquire elite young players.

Nox still has those players...they are the only players he knows. Seriously he just doesn't follow hockey anymore. He knew less guys than me. My method of only bidding when NJH bid this year was effective.

For the 100th time, there is no same day drop! Well, without adds and that's never happening.

 

Excited puck is back, then I remembered how retarded the lineup settings are with this league. Next day drops is still the dumbest s*** ever, I once again can't set a lineup when a player comes off IR slot that same day. Basically get a handcuffed roster for getting a healthy player back. Brilliant.

What's the point of IR+ slots then? Its effectively useless as you're binded to your roster when coaches come out for morning skate and say a player is good to go. This setup is designed for leagues with inactive managers, which for the most part this league is not.

It effectively lets you pick up a player in there absence? A player comes off, you set your lineup accordingly moving forward, we all deal with it. Talk to yahoo, they don't allow it.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Edit: I see you're talking about Paul Byron, you had a team note yesterday that he'd play today, that's on you, bro. Sounds like Kreji's playing tonight too... :P

If a player comes off the same day (which is the essence of a DTD injury) it doesnt allow you to move him into the lineup unless you have an open roster spot. To clear a spot you have to wait a day. It's pretty simple to understand Spanks, the IR+ is pretty much useless unless you have nostradamus like mental forecasting skills to preemptively set your roster accordingly. IR+ really only works with instant drops/adds.

 

Find out if anyone wants to take over my team, I wont bail until a replacement is found, but I'm in too many fantasy leagues as it is and this one just frustrates the f*** out of me.
