my team is losing also...i posted two shut outs tonight...this league has one fault..goalies...it's so hard to get them yet i post 2 shut outs and it's not a cat? wtf

This league has a serious GOALIE issue...it's so hard to get them...start counting losses, and shut outs

Shutouts show up in saves (sometimes), wins, GAA, and SV%. This sounds like a real problem.

Seriously. Why bring up the so called "goalie problem" now. The current way it is setup is the best it has ever been in this league. There are 4 less teams which means about 8-12 goalies have been spread throughout the league. And removing shutouts as a category took out some of the randomness and made them less overpowering.

Your goalies have a 0.32 GAA and .987 SV% over a large sample this week and you are complaining. Holy f***.

I am not asking for a change now...that would be crazy. I am just saying it's f***ed up some guys are carrying 2-3 back up goalies...some teams carrying 2 back up goalies plus NA goalies ..

 

You can't compare loses with Saves etc...However If you count loses then you should count goalie starts...

 

I do believe it's better but still to goalie heavy.

I'm still a pro shutout guy. Fantasy sports is supposed to be a little bit random (like W's in fantasy baseball). I think it makes it more fun to use advanced stats to try and predict future success, but real life won't always mirror that. Its partially random, and partially that those advanced stats are not infallible.

 

I do agree that the goalie issue is lessened now that is only 16 teams.

And what is the issue with that? I took a 30 second look through each of the matchups and there are only 3 teams out of the 16 with 4 active goalies. And if you're rostering 2 backups that rarely play then those teams are losing value in skater categories.

Shutouts are fine as a category on the surface but they were cut to trim down the # of goalie categories in ratio to the skater categories. It's not an advanced stats thing.

Uhhmmm... your goaltending might save you this week? You're carrying 2 starters, better than what I'm working with(at the moment) as I have 2 starters and a back-up, but Smith is out with injury, give your head a shake, mate. There's other teams in a worse situation than you, lol. There's nothing holding you back from picking up a back-up, is there?

Your goaltending is so good that just having 2-4 starts a week between them will win you most categories. it will make teams play their backups, which may work in their favour, but could also blow up their sv% and GAA.

Anyone interested in trading for Zatkoff (when he comes back?). I think he'll get some real playing time, but I just don't need him
