I don't like changes during the season but the way this league is going is just crazy. The goalie situation is just stupid. I don't think we should change anything this year as it's unfair. We need to change this. I am not saying this to help my team believe me.

 

First step you can only keeper 2 goalies ( plus only 1 prospect goalie ), and include Losses as a goalie stat.

 

We are forced to pick goalies first always because of the rules. We need a change doesn't have to be this year but lets be realistic.

I'm not so sure. Faceoff wins is a stat far more impacted by skill than shutouts. If we include a scoring stat like faceoff wins, then it should be included at least 2-3 years after the vote to give teams time to build their clubs in accordance with the new scoring categories. If anything, that should probably happen with shutouts, too.

Removing a goalie slot is absurd or eliminating keeper options and who you can draft, people should've been aware, I've traded away keepers to handcuff goalie tandems. f*** that. I've also lost a decent goalie to the KHL, s*** happens.

I don't really get the resistance for the goaltending change. The guys who have more or better goalies will still be better. We're trying to eliminate basically having a 12 team league here. Right now there's a good chunk of teams who don't even have a shot to sniff the playoffs because of category cockblock. Regarding adding FOW, waiting 2-3 years is ridiculous. Basically all that would change is people will likely select centres all day in the waiver draft instead of the other crap and since we already had centre slots to fill this team-building notice of 2-3 years regarding one category is way overkill. f*** SG.

 

The issue is that teams went into the recent waiver draft unaware of the potential change to the scoring categories. Even for a stat as random as shutouts, it would still be unfair for the teams that weighted goalies more heavily in the recent draft. Maybe 2-3 years is too long, but 1 year is definitely reasonable at this point in the offseason.

I can understand FOW regarding the waiver draft but as far as shutouts are concerned there were only 3 or 4 goalies available to begin with. I took one because I only had 2, I don't think removing shutouts affects the integrity of the waiver draft at all.

 

Should've had your head out of your ass, and drafted goaltenders, just saying.
