GoldBull Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 One more, we could cut down the maximum # of prospects owned. I believe there were people saying this throughout the season (mostly @ last years draft). 10 is pretty high, but cutting it down to 8 or 7 seems reasonable. I would be opposed to that adjustment. I'm biased, but as someone who traded for prospects during the season (smart moves or not), I'm making pretty decent use out of all 10 slots. Removing two of those slots would have a bigger hit on my roster flexibility than others. If anything, the 9th and 10th slot were an annoyance at the time of the prospect draft, when we were drafting dusters that nobody's heard of. From here on out though, prospect drafts are going to be thinner and won't take nearly as much time.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 While that we are here, would you guys consider some rule changes for next season? The main complaint this season was that goalies were worth too much ( a. not enough to go around and b. 5 categories). To fix this a goalie category or two could either be removed, or a category for fwd/defenseman could be added. I think it would be better to add a category or two than remove the goaltender ones. Faceoff % or Faceoffs (counting stat) was considered last year but I think it was turned down because of an exploit which I'm not sure of. Other things to consider - Making position eligibility higher (not sure if this is editable..). When I was putting the rosters into the spreadsheet, it seemed to me like every FWD had multi position eligibility. No one said anything last year so it's not a huge deal either way. - Possible switch to fantrax? Shot in the dark there. maybe more I haven't thought of What do you folks think - I'd be up for adding in one or two more Skater categories. Maybe something like FO% or SHP - Yahoo controls the position eligibility. And I don't think it's much of a problem. I only had 3 skaters that had 2 positions. - I hate Fantrax.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Changing the categories would be dumn unless it was minor. If it largely changes player valuation, it f***s with everything since everyone built their teams for this format.

Yahoo doesn't have FO% apparently, which sucks.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I'm not sure we should change the categories any. It really wouldn't be fair to people at this stage. The categories are what they are, you build your team around them. Also, please promote Lazar for me. He's over the 60 games
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Prospects who are getting close/past the must be promoted line Bo Harvat (JG34 - 54 GP) Tobias Rieder (BTS - 59 GP) Curtis Lazar (Abom - 53 GP) Adam Lowry (Havok - 67 GP) Aaron Ekblad (TCA - 68 GP) Alex Wennberg (GB - 59 GP) Andre Burakovsky (GB - 50 GP) Kevin Hayes (GD - 65 GP) For reference, this was in the middle of March.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I agree that changing categories at this point is not fair to people who have built there teams around the stats we have. Why would we reduce prospects? Don't get the reasoning
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I don't think we need any overhauls. Lots of activity and a successful season. What's the point?

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah I don't want any cats changed... I'm willing to listen to offers on anyone as well as my draft picks. Also willing to move a goalie or 2. Talbot, Hammond and Svedberg most likely.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I just spent some time looking at mock NHL drafts. This draft year seems pretty loaded! It is loaded, and I moved everything, lol.

I have called up Ekblad. And have made the change on the spreadsheet.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Mikko Koivu available for a pick or prospect.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Trade you it back for twice the price! lol...Uhhmmm...NO!
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Svedberg signed for a year in the KHL, I guess he wanted to get out of Rask's shadow. Bruins are dumb. Should of just told him they would trade him to another team and would of got value back. also to everyone: All my players are available for trade!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Willing to make some moves. Can package some prospects and picks for NHL talent. Own picks R1 #10, #22, #30, #33, #36 #50, #70, #90 for the upcoming prospect draft, which is loaded with talent. Also, willing to trade multiple picks for an upgraded pick.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Lol, everyone trying to make package deals before the deadline.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Lol, everyone trying to make package deals before the deadline. When is the deadline? I haven't heard anything about this league for a while lol. Same with the basketball league.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Well no one bothered to fill out responses for the basketball league survey so.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Well no one bothered to fill out responses for the basketball league survey so. I filled out mine lol. Yeah I'm thinking with basketball, league activity again will pick up around October before the season starts. I'm sure right now with summer approaching, people have vacations lined up and are focused on their MLB prospects drafts. I think we should do all our NBA stuff like the prospect draft in September/October before the waiver draft. Makes sense.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 I'll promote Russell and drop Ti'Quann Forbes. I would trade Michael Taylor or Delino DeShields if I got an offer for a pick or picks I liked back.

King Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Hello I've updated the spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MW2nxU_ibNJT6WNTsKskXs6jmNI8cUJddnObxInGyVY/edit#gid=2031737670 It now features the 2015 entry draft. Draft date will be June 29th, 2015 at 8:00 AM ET. The rosters have also been carried over for the offseason, please check to make sure your team is correct (missing players, correct spelling etc.) Teams will be required to cut or promote prospects to the number of picks they have by June 22nd, 2015 at 10:00 PM ET (if they choose). If you have 4 vacancies on your prospect roster and 5 picks, the last pick would be discarded. Reminder: prospects who have played more than 60 NHL games will have to be promoted by a TBD in September or they will be subject to the waiver draft. ^^^ You can start cutting prospects now if you wish, thats just when the last time to do it is.
