eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'm with you, this is entertaining lol JFaS is a super smart dude who contributes a lot to this board, but the way he baits people into arguments is super irritating. He could get his point across in a much less polarizing manner (even if he isn't trying to be polarizing.. i.e. my way is not always the highway). I've only read a few of Gruber's posts but I got a headache from at least three of them so he's got the edge in retard points. It's impossible to deny that some of the stuff JFaS has produced is legit. It's like saying that the world is flat. But I could not imagine getting a beer on a Friday night at the Dome (after a long f***ing work week) only to break into a dead serious conversation regarding DiPS or other advanced statistical stuff. I'd rather drink beer and check out the two blonde hunnies down in the front row while waiting for some dingerz. But I'd gladly go home and read some articles on Fangraphs after the game or during my downtime. Best of both worlds. Both groups stress themselves out unnecessarily. The older, traditional folks get their panties in a bunch calling the SABR guys nerds and dorks while the younger, more technical guys take the sarcasm/snark to a whole different level.
Convo Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Morrow always seems to have these unlucky games. He shouldn't of even given up more than 1 run in the last inning if luck was more on his side.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Come on Morrow finish this inning out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Bring on the JPA comparisons! lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 insert reactionary comment about how Navarro's blocking is worse than Arencibia's
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Good stuff. Get that pitch count up and get into the pen.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 insert reactionary comment about how Navarro's blocking is worse than Arencibia's Beat you to it, you're slipping bro.
ColdPint Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Watching Morrow pitch drives me crazy. He struggles to put anyone away with two strikes, and he is constantly stepping off the mound and walking around. Get the ball, pitch the ball.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 This reminds me how JJ was "unlucky" every game last year even though it was clear as day he was fooling no one. But that was to a whole other degree

You hit it on the nail. If we were all outside no one will pull out their phones and start reading off Fangraphs or talk about UZR or wRC+. If we're at the dome we'd be cracking jokes and eventually heckling lol. If it's at a bar the conversation is probably loosely baseball and more about who the hot chick at the table over there is lol

Hard to disagree with this but you're also talking about a guy that's often a strike-out leader so maybe it just seems that way.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Ya I'm not going to sit at a game and pull out my calculator or look something up. I'd watch for enjoyment, but I'd give credit where it's due. That actually makes me feel a lot better about you. I actually had my doubts lol
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If I was batting I wouldn't move the bat off my shoulder
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Melky with another line drive, sweet.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If Arencibia was catching Archer tonight, he'd have had 5 passed balls by this point.
Convo Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 If I was batting I wouldn't move the bat off my shoulder why ?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 That outside corner is guaranteed to Archer, not taking anything away from Hannigan but Morrow HAS had some pitches in the same spot that haven't been called.
theblujay Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 why ? Archer is all over the place
Convo Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Is Colby ever not in a 1-2 or 0-2 count?

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Aaron Sanchez final performance 5 scoreless, H, 2BB, 5K's
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Is Colby ever not in a 1-2 or 0-2 count? right now lol
