Averaged 91.4 on the fastball... exactly the same as he did in 2012.

 

First inning he missed some fastballs yes

OVer the first three innings his fastball command was very spotty. I remember seeing at one point he had 18 strikes to 17 balls.

 

He really seemed to settle down in the 4th inning though, maybe he just had first start jitters/overexcitement?

You play deep not shallow. Hence why its called no doubles defence

 

We're not talking about the no doubles, we were talking about no BASE HITS in this case....... hence playing shallow.

Has it occurred to anyone else how valuable a Moogy signing would be for this team?

 

He'd be an instant upgrade at so many positions: starting pitcher, pitching coach, head athletic trainer, general manager, manager, financial planner, stadium beverage consultant. It would be nice if he could play the middle-infield, but I'm afraid that's approaching unreasonable.

well, being left-handed, my middle infield value is limited. However, the jays have made it interesting, as my only competition is goins/diaz/izturis at the moment.
