fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 If it's anything like my Physics 20 in AB. It'll be the easiest course you've ever taken. Just plugging numbers into formulas with your calculator. Oh man I would have loved to be in that class. My tests were literally only 70s because I'd score perfect in the math/formula parts and get half of the multiple choice. Once again my teacher was a UofT graduate that double PhD'd in Calculus and Physics so it could be different for me. My school is tryhard
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Physics would be grade 11 for me. 11* sorry my typo
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Good start to the season for the Padres. As for the Dodgers, they really need some offense. Having no Kemp really hurts.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Is a PhD in match actually a thing? Apparently. I have no idea what it will give you in the real world other than University prof jobs? I think calc PhD grads have to come up with their own math formula for something. I honestly don't know

I honestly don't know A PHD in anything math related from a reputable school almost guarantees you a sweet job as a quant at an i-bank as long as you are willing to work 80 hours a week.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Dude must drink himself to sleep every night. I think my high school science teacher had his GED.... and probably a criminal record as well.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 How hard is physics? I might be taking it and I don't know what to expect. I'm around a 90 in academic math fwiw. IMO you should take all the academic subjects to give you the best idea possible about what you want to do / study when you graduate.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Your teacher has a PHD in Calculus and Physics and is only a high school teacher? Uh...... That's..... aiming low? She worked elsewhere before and then started teaching late in the 90s IIRC or something like that
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Sounds familiar. People don't even really get PhD's in math. I can't imagine taking the time to do that and then working at a high school. My math teacher had a masters in math lol. My school has overachiving teachers, overachiving students and not enough money for f***ing toilet papers. We were one of the 2 schools in Toronto that UofT sent shuttle busses to so we can tour Scarborough campus last year for their Comp Sci. program
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 She worked elsewhere before and then started teaching late in the 90s IIRC or something like that It's cool if she did her thing professionally and now just wanted to settle down and have a lower stress job. But to bust your ass to get through programs like those only to settle for a teaching job is a head scratcher. I guess not all people are motivated by money lol.

She's taught a lot of students, notably some dude who's in an Ivy League school who's getting a PhD in Physics now. He came back to our school last year and thanked her for everything. Actually now that I think about it, all the current uni students who are taking physics are coming back and saying that for at least the 1st year they had it covered and were ahead of the rest of the students. That's how good she is. The problem is her tests, 72% class average is too high for her lol
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Which area of Toronto are you in? In between East York and North York, near Shops @ Don Mills plaza

Maybe she's just a genuinely nice person who wants to help out kids.

Yeah that's my thing too. She minored in psychology too and she's really talkative about things like the real life world. Always telling us school stress isn't like real life stress, getting stuck on one problem in your life won't get you anywhere, etc. She's really nice, but when it's time to teach it's time to f***ing teach. Although she doesn't teach that much throughout the unit. She's taught me not to rely on the teacher and self teach the text book to myself lol Maybe fatwcow attends a private school that's paying her 100K to teach or something. Nope, public school. I'm telling you, there's not enough money for toilet papers, what kinda private school is that?? LOL
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Fell asleep and just woke up LOL Glad the padres won...

I've heard they're using regular paper in Venezuela because of toilet paper shortages.

I mean, I have never ever taken a s*** at school before in my life, but still that's pretty poor
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 lol, this was me all through highschool. I'm all about the work s*** now though. Probably 10% of my posts on this forum are from the bathroom at work. Work bathroom >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Highschool bathroom though lol

Ahahahahahahahaha that's disgusting! But better than that 1ply s*** probably Yeah. Also, getting paid for your 'work' >>>>>>>>>> getting paid for work. I'm lost lol, are you talking about me or do you not work when you're supposed to (allegedly) lmao
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Ahahahahahahahaha that's disgusting! But better than that 1ply s*** probably Well, you could also bring along an extra underwear or 2 just in case. I'd go with the regular paper though, it'll likely be so painful that that'll teach you not to s*** in school ever again.

I've only shat once at a Pizza Hut in Berry. That was it. No airports, no schools, no nothing. Just maybe the occasional one at a friends house when I was younger lol
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Work bathroom >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Highschool bathroom though lol I disagree. I can't buy weed in the bathroom at my work
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 I disagree. I can't buy weed in the bathroom at my work Neither can you at mine LOL

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I disagree. I can't buy weed in the bathroom at my work s***, (pun intended), that's a great business idea.

For me as soon as I look at a toilet, my brain starts imagining the amount of s*** (pun intended) the toilet went through before it was cleaned
