Caper Verified Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Jorge Alfaro is a thing Yip... and he is a thing not starting for Texas tomorrow.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 It's an honest answer. Don't lose sight of the fact that this is a game. Its a dumb question anyway. AA stays whether the Jays win or lose in that scenario.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Question: The Jays are in a one game elimination playoff. They win, they're in. They lose and AA gets fired. What do you hope happens? The correct answer is "they got in to contention because the kick ass AA showed up again and made some shrewd mid season moves. The team went from just under .500 at the all star beak to within 1 game of the second wild card thanks to addressing two problems that became apparent in the first half. The moves did not mortgage the future. Beeston has a mild stroke in September and won't be back next year. In a weak moment he admits that the Mets would have settled for Anthony Gose in the Dickey trade rather than Syndergaard, but he blocked AA from making the deal and insisted Syndergaard be dealt instead. Also, AA signs both first round draft picks and rest of league marvels at how he stole them. Attendance is at an all time high. Jays extend Lawrie and Rasmus to financially prudent extensions" So, of course we want to win the game AND keep AA There. F'n simple.
Caper Verified Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 Choose option "They lose and AA gets fired." Because the future of the team is a lot more important than a few playoff games. Hello Kings tonsils..... meet BTS's cock.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Choose option "They lose and AA gets fired." Because the future of the team is a lot more important than a few playoff games. So what if the next gm is just as bad? You're like 7 right? I've been waiting for them to make the playoffs for twice as long as you've been alive.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 It's an honest answer. Don't lose sight of the fact that this is a game. I haven't, at all. You need to let your hair down a little. If the Jays made a serious playoff push this town and the dome would be electric. Do you not like having fun?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Yip... and he is a thing not starting for Texas tomorrow. Yes, and the thing that should be starting for Texas is Soto. Soto now and Alfaro when he's ready is a perfectly respectable situation considering that they're a contender with a bright outlook and also the same payroll as us.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Well, there is too many hypothetical situations to have the "right" answer. So let me get this straight. You have almost 15K posts in a few months on a Toronto Blue Jays message board and you can envision yourself sitting in front of your television in the bottom of the 9th inning of a tie-breaker being indifferent to whether the Jays score a winning run to put them into the playoffs. lol The internet has exposed me to some crazy s*** but this is right up there.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I don't want to start fights with anyone. BTS is good people and I'm probably going to be getting trashed with a lot of other people in this thread during the upcoming Yankees series so I'd like to keep things cheerful (hate drinking when I'm angry). But that's a question that needs to be answered! at least now I know I'll be wearing my Rays shirt for one of the opening weekend games.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I want to see the Jays make the playoffs every year, not just one year.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 at least now I know I'll be wearing my Rays shirt for one of the opening weekend games. I will fight you. That's no lie.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I want to see the Jays make the playoffs every year, not just one year. Not me. I only want to see them make it one time.
Caper Verified Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 To be fair it's because is Soto significantly injured They signed JP for about 1M to be a backup This isn't about being fair.... this is about winning internet flame wars.
Caper Verified Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 I want to see the Jays make the playoffs every year, not just one year. Yes... and with Billy Bean the Jays will make the playoffs.... in the hardest division in baseball......... every single year.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Yes... and with Billy Bean the Jays will make the playoffs.... in the hardest division in baseball......... every single year. Billy Beane on a $130m payroll would be one of the best teams in baseball, but you probably think that they'd overspend and s*** because somehow having more money would make them stop looking at every single statistic they look at already.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Actually, watch that s***. Stuff like this is what starts the insufferable s*** shows. We're kind of past that already lol
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 He's no CHP, that's for sure. Come back, my sweet prince. I must hear you rave about the Leafs' decision making.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Guys tomorrow is Monday. Monday's suck. Let's all enjoy the end of Sunday before we have to f***ing start Monday. Turn those frowns upside down bro's!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Or let's just sling s*** at each other. f*** everyone. I hate you all. No I don't I love you all.
Caper Verified Member Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 You're really bad at trolling, by the way. I don't know... I had you off the wall last year when I had Ramon Ortiz as a top 5 prospect last year..... I know you don't want to admit that... but it was true.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Deleted gut-churning oral sex references. Enough Argue the points/opinions or infractions

Turn those frowns upside down bro's! Work in downtown Hali and taking the last 3rd of my day off to be home and watch the game.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 No way bro... I'm going to the Rays vs Jays game in St. Petes Can't wait! Saw online that you can get tickets almost directly behind the backstop for like 30-40 bucks. What a joke of a fanbase.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 No way bro... I'm going to the Rays vs Jays game in St. Petes Can't wait! Oh yeah, cool! Which ones?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I don't know... I had you off the wall last year when I had Ramon Ortiz as a top 5 prospect last year..... I know you don't want to admit that... but it was true. You were knew enough that I wasn't sure if you were trolling or not. And I was new enough as well. Now, it's fairly apparent that you're just trying to get a rise out of King and BTS, who you really don't f***ing like for some reason or another. Have fun with that, baud. Very productive.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Saw online that you can get tickets almost directly behind the backstop for like 30-40 bucks. What a joke of a fanbase. They have a fan base? I just thought a few old confused people wandered in because it was air conditioned and they thought there was free sweet tea and pink filling sandwiches.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Wanna hug it out? What, no circle jerk?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 East, I have to say I feel bad about telling you to get off your high horse. I mean, I think you were on one, but that's probably the most unpleasant thing I've said to you in like 10 years on this forum. Wanna hug it out? Only if bro hugs. You guys know the difference right?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I want to see the Jays make the playoffs every year, not just one year. Good luck with that. I'd be happy if they played a meaningful game in September once...
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Work in downtown Hali and taking the last 3rd of my day off to be home and watch the game. #HaliBro Didn't know you from Halifax. I feel bad now for slinging s*** at you in the Raptors thread. Dig out from the snowstorm yet? My dad rage-calls me every other day giving me updates (he lives in Cape Breton). Sunny at 2 degrees here today!
