John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Reimold chops a weak grounder up the third base line, basically a swinging bunt and No chance for Lawrie to get the out, but he still makes the play and made it close. Runner on 1st, 2 outs. 1st pitch ground out to Getz at 2b who makes all three outs this inning on grounders. Off to the bottom of the 8th, Jays trailing 2-1.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 RHP Ryan Webb now in to pitch for Baltimore. Aceves 3 IP, 4 hits given up and 1 walk. No K and no runs.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Gose was in for Rasmus in CF and Pillar for Bautista last inning defensively.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Wow, seems like a great game so far. Thanks for the updates JH
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Edwin has a full count, now his 4th and likely final AB of the game. Another broken bat from Edwin, lines out softly to 3b. 1 out. LInd up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Lind takes ball 1, then ball 2, fouls one off for a 2-1 count. Foul again 2-2. Lind strikes out swinging. 2 outs.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Cabrera up. 2 outs. Slow curve strike 1. Takes low ball 1. Cabrera grounds out to the 1b. 3 outs.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Sanchez still in the game for the 9th. Almanzar grounds to 3B, Goeddert who replaced Lawrie throws wide of first. The Erros puts a runner on 1st with none out. Xavier Paul up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Strike 1 called for Sanchez. Swinging strike 2, swinging strike 3 on a curve ball. 1 out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Cord Phelps up to bat. High fastball, ball 1. Groundball to 2nd and they get a double play. 3 outs. Jays down 2-1 into the bottom of the 9th. Due up, Lawries spot, Navarro, Getz
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Webb remains in the game. Dan Johnson in to pinch hit.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Tons of ground balls induced by Sanchez. Good outing. It might be time to send him down to minor league camp to get into his starting routine, but hopefully, being in MLB ST will have done him some good.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Johnson takes ball 1. Half swing, strike 1. Outside ball 2. Johnson takes it deep to LF off the wall, but hit it so hard it bounced right back to the LF and cant go to second. 1 on, Navarro at the plate.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Navarro base hit to RF, 1st and 2nd with nobody out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Getz up to the plate showing bunt, bunts foul for strike 1. Next pitch lined in to LF for a base hit, way too hard for Johnson to even think of scoring. Bases loaded, none out with Kawasaki coming up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Mune fouls off the first pitch for strike 1. Line drive base hit for Kawasaki scores Johnson but again hit way too hard for the runner from second, Navarro still on the bases as Gibbons had told Navarro he will be catching the entire game today. Tie game 2-2 with the bases loaded, none out and Gose up.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 LHP Kelvin de La Cruz called on to face Gose.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 If it wasn't Navarro on third, I'd love to see gibbons try a suicide squeeze.

Tie game 2-2 with the bases loaded, none out and Gose up. LOL.. It's the ninth inning. Doesn't that constitute playing the whole game with Navarro? Gibby makes me scratch my head sometimes.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Gibbons counters the pitching move with Sierra as a pinch hitter. Takes first 2 pitches high for balls 1 and 2. Swinging foul, 2-1. Sierra lines a shot to SS, makes a diving grab to save the game for the time being. Bases loaded, 1 out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 AB is Kevin Pillar, grounds into a DP on the first bloody pitch back to the pitcher, easy underhand toss to the catcher and the throw to 1st to get Pillar. 2-2 to the 10th.

Gibby makes me scratch my head sometimes. I guess he told him even if it goes to extras, since they have the day off tomorrow, Navarro will be in the entire game. Well, now they're going to extras.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Lot of bad luck today with the bats.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Arik Sikula in to pitch the 10th for the Jays. Here's his MILB page, has been a reliever for the jays since being drafted. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=607724
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Pillar, from what I've seen, has trouble with fastballs. Plus he's a free swinger, if he doesn't improve on that he'll be a AAAA player.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I guess he told him even if it goes to extras, since they have the day off tomorrow, Navarro will be in the entire game. Well, now they're going to extras. Gibby must be a mind reader because that situation was a no brainer to pinch run for Navarro.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Sikula goes 1-1 to Buck Britton, changeup fouled off 1-2. hard to know exactly what happened next since all they are taking about is how the pitcher spells his name "Arik"... 3 or 4 pitches were missed. He flied out to RF on what must have been a full count. 1 out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Gibby must be a mind reader because that situation was a no brainer to pinch run for Navarro. Yeah, he had the saem situation back in the 7th or 8th and probably would have done the same thing back then.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Sikula gives up a line drive HR to LF to Daniel Alvarez, cut right through the wind. 3-2 Baltimore.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Borbon bunts out to 2b, 2 outs.
