eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Gose is absolutely brutal. My god I hate his swing. Just use him as the 4th OFer. Get some value from his glove. Almost pointless to send him down to Buffalo now to continue developing the bat. This might be all we get with him.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 "Pillar plays it well, makes a strong throw" - Buck 15 hopper to 2nd base.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Would be nice to see Edwin get off to a good start. He looked really bad coming out of the gates last year and still had a monster season. If he and Bautista are full on with Reyes and Cabrera setting the table this top of the lineup would be absolutely lethal. And Bautista looks super dialed in. Just hope he keeps it up. He has ugly long slumps (which Re common among power hitters of course)
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 melk man going to be big for the club if he keeps hitting like that... Yep. I think he could have a great season. Looks absolutely fine in LF too. Hate to get my hopes up too much but...
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Apparently Kawasaki makes everybody better. If we're gonna suck we might as well be lovable while we're doing it.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Some turrible defense on display in this game. This game better not cut into the Raptors game.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Some turrible defense on display in this game. This game better not cut into the Raptors game. It is lol you have to go to SN1 to catch the beginning part of it
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 Did the center fielder just bounce the ball to short from shallow center?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 what a slaughter lol, 8-2
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Neil Wagner going full gas-can.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I hate how Buck praises every single player and states that he should make the team. He just said Wagner should make it even though he's out of options. If Buck has his way Pillar, Sierra, Gose, Goins, and Kawasaki will be on the bench and the team will carry a 15-man pitching staff. Wagner is 30 years old with 43 innings of incredibly mediocre ball under his belt. He's brutal. Nobody will claim him.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I usually watch the games with no sound to avoid listening to Buck and Tabler, but since it's ST, I thought what the heck. Well, heck, Buck is in mid-season form.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Buck would get laughed off this forum due to lack of knowledge. Who knows, maybe he's posting as jaysrays and Tabler is high85.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I've suspected for quite some time that saskjaysfan is Pat Tabler. Maybe CHP is Wilner.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 If the Raptors lose it will be the TO trifecta.
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 We have some insane catching depth. Brian McCann, Francisco Cervelli, Austin Romine, John Ryan Murphy (J.R Murphy), Gary Sanchez, 17 year old Luis Torrens. Cervelli, J.R Murphy, and Austin Romine are all MLB ready. Make a good offer guys!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Poor Goins You think he can hit. 200 this year?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Poor Goins Good at bats are good at bats, regardless. Don't take that away from him. He had a good day today.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 J.R. Murphy is good. He posted a .773 OPS in AA and AAA last year as a 22/23 year old catcher. He doesn't K a lot but draws a lot of walks, so he's got the eye which could translate to the bigs. I thought the McCann signing was a bit silly, honestly. I mean, it will upgrade their squad, no doubt ... but catcher was one of the few organizational strengths in terms of youngsters ready/near-ready, so why spend the money there? Count on the defensive skills of Cervelli and Romine until Murphy and Sanchez are ready (Murphy could be ready this year), and land yourself a big bat at another position. Now they need to move someone out of position to make room for their bat, or deal them away in order to get some value from them. If they hype Murphy up enough, they could easily trade him to try and fill one of their glaring IF holes
