Canada 4 to 1. Semi finals vs Panama and then the winner (Canada) faces Mexico/USA.

 

Canada vs USA Sunday 8.30pm in Las Vegas. This will likely be the biggest game Canada plays until the World Cup in 2026. Chance to win the first trophy in like 93898385 years.

Looks like Toronto FC may be getting Layrea back permanently. I think he'd have played more for Nottingham Forest if we didnt get promoted last year. He looked decent in the few times I saw him, but he wasn't going to budge Spence from right back in that team, and there wasn't enough quality in him for Premier League level. He'd be good in a mid table championship team or premier league.

Canada needs to learn how to kick the ball properly, both out of their end and at the opponent's net.

 

I think Canada is still a generation away from developing multiple elite level offensive players. They compete... But let's face it, this team can't score.

Saying Canada can't score because of 5 games at Copa America would be the equivalent of saying a baseball team full of good hitters at the MLB level can't hit because they had a low batting average at the World Baseball Classic.

 

What do you define as 'elite level'? Most people would say guys who play on above average teams in the top 5 leagues in the world and if that's how you define it then Canada is already there.

 

Its funny because the defense has always been the issue with Canada and now after a new coach comes in and we don't score a bunch of goals despite creating a ton of chances now this team can't score.

 

France never scored more than 1 goal in any game at the Euros. They must be a generation away from developing multiple elite level offensive players. They compete... But let's face it, that team can't score.

Alright. I'll defer to your expertise. I just don't see enough elite offensive talent here yet. One or two guys? That's great. But I'm talking about depth of great talent like the true powerhouses have. That isn't a year or two away.

1. Canada scored 23 goals in 14 games.

2. USA in second with 21 goals

3. Mexico/Panama tied in 3rd with 17 goals.

Seriously though, figures f***ing Eeyore needs to drop his horseshit on a young upcoming studly Canadian program that deserves accolades for what they've accomplished in a short time prior to this tournament, they should be applauded.
