Jays are not in on Tanaka according to MLBTR but are involved with the next set of free agents. AA doesn't mind giving up a 2nd round pick.

The source of that was Griffin though, who seems to have been completely shut out from the Jays front office for a long time. I suspect that he's right, but I also suspect that it's a pure guess on his part.

It's weird the way Anthoopoulos has gone from seeming like a savvy GM with a plan to looking completely overwhelmed by the task of putting together a roster. Maybe he just stop listening to the right people and started listening to the wrong ones.

He got the delusional idea that we could compete in a window of the Red Sox and Yankees being "down," even though those teams can always buy their way out of trouble, and he seems to have forgotten about the Rays (a real franchise with competent management). On top of that, he missed the playoffs AGAIN during this imaginary window while the Sox won it all! AA = massive failure!

Maybe Tanaka will sign with Toronto because of all the hot asian chicks we have.

Los Angeles probably has a few as well...

I find it incredible that he comes to the states for a few days (apparently only to a single city), meets with teams, then flies back. If I was planning on signing a contract somewhere for the next 6 years, I'd want to visit each place I was considering and really look around to make sure it was the right fit.

This better not f***ing happen every year.

There hasn't been a SINGLE free agent signing since he was posted in December.

Maybe he did that on his own time without the publicity.

Affirmative. I think half of them work at the front desk of my gym.

A lot of Asians don't like sex, they find it disgusting lol

Chicago too

We have a terribly small Japanese population. A lot of Cubs/Sox fans think it's a problem for bringing in Tanaka. Lots of Chinese here, though it may be a surprise to some, Chinese =/= Japanese.

M's need him after the Cano signing if they have any hope of winning. They also show they are not to concerned about long term deals. I am betting on the M's

I was thinking the same... but then I tried to think what it would be like the other way around. You are going to work in Japan for a number of years but only for half of each year. There are 5 cities to choose from. Tokyo and 4 you don't know much of. Offers range from 125000 to 175000 k (or choose some amount that is meaningful to you).

You don't know the culture anyway and it is hard for you to appreciate the differences between cities.

Do you visit each one?? Maybe. Or do you just take the best offer because in the end you will return home 1/2 the year, and then return home for good when the contracts up.

He wants a team on the west coast so it will be close to Japan, i honestly don't know how it can be Toronto or Chicago. When you're talking 100mil or 120mil, i really doubt the money becomes a factor, more of the other things that money can't buy like the place, weather, proximity to Japan...
