They probably wouldn't make the mistake again! I was kidding. The ump was clearly fine.

 

It doesn't make it any less wrong if the ump is fine, not that we have any way of knowing. He walked off the field, and the video cuts out fairly soon after. He could very well have been presenting symptoms of a concussion.

As a retired cop I can tell you IF the ump was seriously injured both the pitcher and catcher would have been charged with assault causing bodily harm. Possibly whoever else that conspired to commit this criminal offence.
