GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 provided it doesn't cost Sanchez or Stroman+. And I don't think it would.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 And I don't think it would. And he's not eligible for free agency until 2018
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 And he's not eligible for free agency until 2018 And he's been mentioned to be a trade possibility by MLBTR Can this just happen already? Please?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 And I don't think it would. Just out of curiosity what do you think it would take? I mean a young (ish) pitcher who has been solid and durable I am sure the Cards would not just want to give him away.

Janssen would obviously be part of the package going back. What else do we have that they'd want though? Maybe D.J. Davis + Janssen + a piece or two.

That seems low for me but knowing the cards they take that and turn Davis into the next Tori Hunter or some s*** like that lol.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 excellent interview with Ken Rosenthal right there
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 should I order my Lance Lynn Jays jersey yet?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Lynn + Wong for Sanchez + Janssen + D.J Davis + Pillar seems likely-ish. Maybe some more from Jays. Sanchez being developed in the Cards' org is scary to think about.
DwightDM Verified Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Just curious guys why would the Cardinals trade Lynn unless they can get a team to overpay for him. they've got about 7 or 8 quality starters there. Someones gotta go , but you're right, they're not going to give them away. I'd like Lynn too, but I can't see it being done without Sanchez or Stroman involved. We don't really have much else.
Pete_7 Verified Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Anybody actually think Kolten Wong is an everyday second baseman? I know the guy is good defensively, but what about the bat? Don't know much about him

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Oh my God, Wong?! Unacceptable! He's another headcase like Rasmus, not a true Cardinal, send him north to Eskimo land baby for Janssen!
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 These Cards don't deserve s***, they're pretty bad fundamentally, SSS I know, but f*** do teams give games away to the Red Sox.

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Haha Farrell wanted a high Five from Gomes but I think he got stood up.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 Very boneheaded play and Matheny threw him under the bus in post-game interviews as if they lost because of him. Hopefully this makes Cardinal fans go all crazy on him and the organization sours him. Then hopefully AA has the savvy to go trade for Wong at his lowest point.

I'm finding out Matheny is a bit of a butcher as a manager so let's hope this happens.

I hadn't really read what he said about Wong. My beef with him has been his bullpen usage. In game 3 Siegrist threw 8 pitches to get the side in order in the 7th and looked great. Ellsbury was leading off and I thought Siegrist should've at least faced him and if he got him out, maybe should've pitched to Victorino and if he got him out, to Pedroia as well. Instead, he brought in Martinez who was pitching for the 3rd time in 4 days, something he had never done, and the Red Sox tied the game. They're lucky they won that game. Tonight, I thought Wainright should've been pulled after the double by Ross and Siegrist should've faced Lester and Ellsbury, that's a huge run that Ellsbury drove in. Don't get me wrong, the Cards can't hit, but Matheny just hasn't impressed me.
