If you wanna run it, i doubt anyone would have a problem with it. I'll offer to co-commish it with someone else to help process trades.

As long as PIM isnt included and the Goalie stats dont make up more than 40 percent of the cats, im not picky.

But really, someone has to take charge here if this league is going to not be a clusterf***. Categories, rosters, number of keepers all have to be decided very soon. And the prospect draft should happen before the season.

 

I was thinking maybe 15 keepers.. How many prospects per team? 6? Not sure what roster spots and stats are listed right now.

Starting spots should be pretty standard.

 

3 foward lines, 3 defensive lines. Maybe 1 goalie because its a 20 team league? Bench can be whatever, 18 keepers. 5-8 Farm. Cats should be discussed and voted

I havent participated in a serious hockey league before so im not exactly sure what kind of impact the goal tending would have in a 20 team league, but wouldnt it just make goalies a lot more valuable than they should be?

Let's get the ball rolling on categories:

 

W, SV%, GAA, S

 

G, A, SOG, H, FOW, PPP

 

I kind of like the categories we have, but minus shorthanded points and shutouts.

 

W, S, SV%, GAA

G, A, +/-, SOG, H, BLK, PPP, FOW

 

would probably be my preference. Only 6 offensive categories seem a little light to me, and makes goalies too valuable imo.

New to keepers kind of as well.

 

How do prospects work?

When they get added to yahoos database, do you have the rights to add the player you have as a prospect?

 

For the prospect draft, do you have to follow roster spots? (Like 3fwd, 2d, 1g) or can you draft as many of each position that you like

 

You can have all D for your prospects if you want. No specific position.

 

We will probably follow the DDL rules for spects or something similar. Prospects who have played NHL games are ineligible and those who haven't played are free to be drafted in the prospect draft.

Should the prospect draft come after the main roster draft? So if I have (crappy) defense, I could draft Seth jones?

Prospect draft should be done before. We don't have much time. We probably need to do that by next weekend, so we have enough space in between for the NHL roster draft.

This is what I'm thinking. To avoid confusion, this has to be done before the season starts though. Even if just in this thread, assuming nobody will have a proboards site set up.

Are we really doing 20? We only have 17 who voted yes and 11 who joined the league.

 

20 would be ideal. 16 at least IMO.
