Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 he's a repeat offender. Not enough for 8 games, likely a 2 or less.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Not enough for 8 games, likely a 2 or less. Half the season lmao. I'd be shocked at anything more than 2. This is the NFL.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Wtf did I just watch. Self Destruction.

TRM Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 He might even get a game with a hefty fine. Hard to say. Yeah, it's so hard to give lengthy suspensions for in-game things (save for incidents like Haynesworth's stomp) because hit to the heads and violent acts are so much a part of the game and ingrained, and sometimes it's impossible to avoid them given that violent nature of the game, and the speed at which everything happens.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 He might even get a game with a hefty fine. Hard to say. I think the bigger question is what Cincy does with him. He's too good to cut but no one will trade for him. Do you just hope you can fix the attitude and bite the bullet if you can't?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 He might even get a game with a hefty fine. Hard to say. sad if it is so little. It was pretty clear he was trying to hurt him. The push later won't help either. They said it was an official but it was someone with a jacket, looked more like a trainer. if he's lucky it was only a trainer because shoving an official might get more wrath than the hit.

It also looks awful on the NFL for an organization that has to aggressively defend itself from examples such as, idk, this entire f***ing game in which several people were knocked out cold.

Burfict is a huge part of their defense but can't seem to keep himself in control.

It wasn't him that "shoved" the official though, it was Pacman. And even that was a little ticky-tacky, I get that any contact with an official needs to be called, and I'm sure it was accompanied with some harsh words, but to decide a game because of a "brush" is unfortunate. As for the Burfict hit, it's hard to defend given his past with the ankle twisting against the Panthers and other stuff, however I have a hard time believing he tried to hurt him given where they were in the game. More likely, I imagine he believed that there was a chance AB got two hands on the ball, and in that moment his years of training saying do anything you can to separate ball from receiver (especially at such a critical moment) led him to do anything he could to do just that, and he ended up hitting AB in the noggin.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Pac, pushed an official? the last foul was after the whistle and injury. they got 15 and then 15 for a push while the guy was getting carried off the field.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I don't think the Pacman penalty decided the game. It was a first down so they could've gone for a throw and if it was incomplete just ran and spiked. It didn't decide it, more so sealed it. the hit that caused the fumble earlier looked like he led with the crown of his helmet. pretty sure that's a penalty. didn't they change the rules a few years back that you can't drop your head and lead with the helmet? canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 They are not showing the highlight of the push by jones. I thought I saw something small during but didn't think it was that play the flag was on. I don't agree with the push flag if it's the one I saw

Nope. Pacman brushed the official, what you saw was Burfict trying to see if AB was ok. Not a smart idea given the circumstance (think Dyson and Tulo), but not what the second foul was for.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Hill doesn't fumble...none of that happens. Lewis and Burfict are to blame though. How can Lewis allow his players to be so undisciplined?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 the last foul was after the whistle and injury. they got 15 and then 15 for a push while the guy was getting carried off the field. Pacman Jones pushed the official. Not Burfict.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Don't agree with the pacman flag for 15 yards
TRM Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 the last foul was after the whistle and injury. they got 15 and then 15 for a push while the guy was getting carried off the field. Honestly, I was actually trying to be nice the last couple posts, but you're so steadfast in your blatantly wrong opinions that it makes it difficult. You're f***ing wrong. Foul 1 was on the hit by Vontaze Burfict on Antonio Brown, referred to as AB by some.. Foul 2 was on Adam Jones, referred to as Pacman or Pac by some, for brushing an official.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Pacman Jones pushed the official. Not Burfict. ok... was a lot going on. Burfict was asking how the player was and the trainer pushed him off. then they all surrounded the officials to argue what was about the easiest call of the game. any sport, touching an official is considered as bad as it gets.

It was far from legal, tell your friend to smoke another one.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 So two road teams so far, I think it's likely that Seattle and GB make it four for four tomorrow. I bet that's never happened before.

I don't agree with the push flag if it's the one I saw In a game like that, you don't touch an official, never mind push off from the man, it was stupid.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Should be a flag on GIo hit then no flag on the push or " brush " by pacman. As far as Burfict I think he wants to hurt people however I am not sure he could have stopped the hit after he realized brown didn't catch it. Still dirty and horrible but I see how it can happen...it's his history that doesn't help.

Tough for me to agree although o understand that those are the rules. You can't let something like that cost a team a season but it's a rule.
