canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Great game by the Colts!! Going into the game I really liked the matchup of the Colts Dbs vs the Broncos WRs and it seemed like that was the big difference in the game. Vontae Davis had an outstanding game. Luck was fantastic as well and those 2 ints were on 3rd and long so they worked out as 35-40 yard punts. Really hate the Patriots but we'll see what happens. That's what most people miss and claim Luck forces his passes. Agree with everything you said but I did believe the game would be close and go down to the wire, which was not the case.

I don't know if that was the intention but they ended up being really smart plays that look bad on the boxscore but don't effect the win probability. His recievers had a couple drops and the refs missed 2 holding penalties on 3rd down that would of made his numbers look even better.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Do you guys think Cardale Jones declares?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 He would be smart to. His value is pretty high and if he has a good Pro Day and Combine I could see him as a 2nd round pick and maybe 1st rounder but its tough to say cuz he has such little game tape. If Urban Meyer doesn't say he is starting next year for sure it'd be smart to declare anyway.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 He's got two really good QBs on his roster as is, too. He'd look good in a Bills uni...
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Bills would be a bad place for him to go, Rex can't develop an offense/QB to save his life.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Bills would be a bad place for him to go, Rex can't develop an offense/QB to save his life. That's why we sign Peyton Manning to mentor him for a year after he gets cut, silly. Then I wake up
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Bills would be a bad place for him to go, Rex can't develop an offense/QB to save his life. I don't think he needs to be able to do that. However, Greg Roman isn't that guy either imo. Bills always seem to have s***** OCs.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Hoping for Trestman Greg Roman has agreed to be OC already Im pretty sure. Trestman would of been an amazing choice.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I was just talking about this the other day wit ha buddy but doesn't it seem like there is a lack of great/above average QBs to come out of the draft lately. In the last few years there is Andrew Luck obviously but other than that you've got Newton, Tannenhill? and Carr/Bridgewater (really early obviously and still a ton of work to do) who look like they could be longterm good starters.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Trestman couldn't make an offense with Forte, Jeffrey, and Marshall work. I mean they had a good offense last year only because f***ing Josh MCcowan had every interception dropped by the defender.

Bruh you forgot Wilson. He and Luck are going to own the league for the next decade.

I think the level of QB play has increased actually, but there will always be 4-5 that is a step above everyone else.

Newton needs to cut down on the turnovers and I'd like to see him 100% healthy next season with some speedier receivers to go along with Benjamin and Olsen.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Really the only thing holding Newton back are his mechanics. He's not consistently accurate enough. I love his size/mobility/pocket presence/ and arm strength. He really does have all the tools in the world.

Yeah he throws the ball sometimes way too high over his receivers heads or throws way too hard for passes that should be simple. Even with Benjamin as his main target, sometimes he overthrows him haha. Agreed, he has all the tools in the world to be an elite QB. He's still very young though. Though if he doesn't take any steps forward over the next year or two, I could see Carolina going in a different direction at QB.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Newton is actually still pretty young. He is about the same age as Luck and is a year younger than Russel Wilson.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Got the Seahawks and Pats winning today. Rodgers didn't look 100% against Dallas and that won't hold up against the Seahawks. Colts could possibly upset, though the Pats beat them two times already this season and they are playing in New England. I'm cheering for the Packers though in todays game and since Spanky is a huge Packers fan Edited January 18, 2015 by jaysblue
