baubau Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Hopefully Bautista can get hot to finish the season. Sell high on him in the off-season. Tear this thing apart piece by piece. As much we want to see it happen, it won't happen. Plus the biggest dance partner got their RF situation fixed with Rios.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 This season is such a colossal failure, to the point where it actually worries me that it could be a catalyst for the eventual demise of the franchise. I know that sounds crazy right now given that attendance is up but there just doesn't seem to be any light at the end of this tunnel. This franchise is already f***ed and has been for 20 years. The combination of Rogers' feckless ownership and being in a division with the Sox, Yankees, and Rays has essentially killed a once-proud franchise. This franchise won't even be competitive until Rogers sells the team.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Well.. I just got home.. uh.. go Blue Jays? Seriously, the f*** is it with the Athletics and rubbing salt in our wounds? A little over a year ago, they hammered us 16-0. God.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Shut up. Unless you want the team to move to San Antonio or something, Rogers isn't selling the team--Rogers saved the team from moving to the US, remember. And you can imagine they're whining the same in New York right now with that team facing a bleak future.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Shut up. Take your own advice, raysjays

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Oh s***, we suck we all figured that out in April.
digiblader Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 The team nearly moved in 2000 because Interbrew didn't want anything to do with the team.

We need to sell to an Arab Sheik sugar daddy with nothing better to do than to use the franchise as his plaything and pump billions of dollars into it, knowing full well he'll never get it back.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Most fun I've had at a game all year last night. You can enjoy the game so much more when you don't care who wins anymore and just enjoy tthe game. Also makes watching Emilio less painful, yet still funny. Crowd was pretty good and stayed till the end it seemed.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 we all figured that out in April. Sad but true. I had a quesy feeling at the home opener & a week later when they got blown out by the red sox with Dicky on the mound. Hopefully we can rebound next year like the red sox did this year.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Well, it's a win and a half. Which is significant but acceptable given Reyes' offensive contributions. Hech OBP this year .274 and no extra base power (.310 SLG) Reyes OBP is *100* points higher with more power (.473 SLG) and more speed How many extra runs does that produce? The only argument against Reyes here is how much time he misses vs Hech

The only argument against Reyes here is how much time he misses vs Hech There's one problem here. We should never of been comparing Hech to Reyes... the point was to compare a very good SS to sub-par SS, but Hech's bat is so bad. There are a number of short-stops that have very good defense and average bats. Edited August 10, 2013 by Arkadium
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
