admin Site Manager Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 53.5 flyball% pitcher at RC is a bad idea anyways. Redmond is a bum. Oakland acquires him, turns into 3.00ERA pitcher.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 And FFS we're talking about freaking Redmond! OK so I like the guy who's not highly touted - you guys act like that's a criminal offense. I'd like to see what Redmond can do for the rest of the year - it's not like these games matter any more anyway.
KSaw Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Redmond is not that good but not horrible either. He has 5th starter upside and value as a depth starter who can be optioned. With that said, Weber has better stuff and is perhaps better now. Neither of them will ever be stars but by now we should all realize that guys like them do have value!
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Redmond is a perfectly serviceable 7th or 8th starter, and I say that in all seriousness. Good depth guy for 3 or 4 starts a year if/when needed. He's been fine.
KSaw Verified Member Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Be ready to spoon feed or explain more when September call ups happen and people wonder who some of them are or why they're up. Relievers like Scott Gracey and Alan Farina are possibles. Might as well see them up close before deciding if either gets a 40-man roster spot before the Winter Meetings. Gracey is intetesting, though the club is deep in relievers. He's like a new man since adding a cutter this year. He's 91-92 on the 2-seamer, 87-88 with his cutter, which is his newest and best pitch, and has a change and slider. He joins the long list of useful relievers, though he may land elsewhere before next season.
