Notes:

MLB:

  • The Detroit Tigers acquire RP Jose Veras from the Astros in return for OF Danry Vasquez. Jose Veras will move to an 8th inning setup role while Vasquez will pad the Astros farm at the A ball level
  • The Atlanta Braves swap relievers, shipping RP Cory Rasmus for the Angels' RP Scott Downs. Downs will help Luis Avilan with the lefty load, splitting time as a loogy. Rasmus on the other hand has nice numbers in AAA, and a mid 90s fastball and a decent changeup.
  • The Tampa Bay Rays acquire RP Jessie Crain for future cash and player considerati

A's:

  • AJ Griffin has made 2 starts against the Jays, and has 7.1 scoreless innings against them
  • Josh Reddick has 5 career homers against the Jays, which is 3rd most against a team in his career
  • Before their 10 run explosion last night against the Angels, the A's were in a 15 game offensive slump, putting up a .197 average and only averaging 2.87 runs per game

Jays:

  • Esmil Rogers had a nice game against the Dodgers last time out giving up 2 runs on 7 innings pitched when the Jays lost 8-3 in extras. He's only faced the A's once before as a relief pitcher spinning 3.1 innings of scoreless relief
  • Rasmus is hot, hitting .365 out the gate with 18 RBIs in a total of 23 games. Edwin went 9/12 with eight ribbies against the 'Stros starting a mini hot streak for the Jays first baseman
  • Darrin Oliver confirmed to Shi Davidi insuring that this is indeed his last season of baseball

Crisp is the last person I'd want to walk... he sure has a great name though.

I have crips, Lowrie and Moss playing fantasy tonight. lol

just know they are going to have a big night against Rogers

A's are in first and cant draw fans. they need to be moved.

They want to go to San Jose but the Giants are being douchebags about it. Apparently they've forgotten that the A's ceded their right to the San Jose market to them to keep them from moving to Tampa.

Could Melky take his time getting to the ball? no reason to hurry right?

Can we please get him out of left, my god. I had two cigs while he went for the ball.

I have no idea why MLB insists in having baseball in towns that dont want to go to games. it's like putting a hockey team on the face of the sun. Phoenix shouldn't have ever had a team.

This is true, but MLB is still run 1000 times better than the nhl

AA comments for days brah!!!

"I cant see us making any big moves" lol they have nothing to trade so I pretty much agree that nothing much will happen.

AA is the last GM to figure out guys cant play.

Bonifacio was the key to the Miami deal... that has to be the low point of any GMs career.
