Spoonovic Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Gregor Chisholm @gregorMLB 20m Encarnacion said he likely won't be interested in HR derby because of his recent hamstring and wrist problems. #BlueJays Gregor Chisholm @gregorMLB 19m Bautista, on the other hand, seemed interested in participating in the HR Derby again this year. He'll await word on the picks. #BlueJays Seriously? He didnt learn anything from the wrist injury last year?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 No. Please Alex, don't let him do it.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Who picks, Miguel Cabrera or Jim Leyland?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Whomever the Captains are. Oh. For some reason I thought it was maybe the previous year's home run champ from each league. I guess, good chance it's Miggy picking either way since he's probably both.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 I'm kind of bored of watching Bautista in the derby. Let some new guys in - I don't want to just see Cano, Ortiz, Bautista, Cruz, etc. again. Agree but there are only so many guys to pick from

Bryce Harper and Pedro Alvarez better be in it.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 All I care about is seeing Crush Davis.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Yep the homerun derby puts so much more stress on those joints then batting practice does. *rolls eyes* Id rather see Edwin in it over Jose. He's lost the past 2 years, time to get new people in it. Id want to see something like : Al: Davis, Edwin and CHRIS carter. get Carter in this. NL; Harper, Alvarez, Stanton, Upton
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 They should let Colby in! Also, Davis, Chris Carter, Cespedes, Trout. Lots of emerging guys with just as much power as the older Dominicans who always do it. Colby? You mean EE. Best raw power hands down on the Jays. Him, Cespedes, Ortiz and Cano would be entertaining!
flafson Verified Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 If Bautista can teach EE how the derby works, i wouldn't mind seeing him. If he will swing at everything like a rookie, i prefer Bautista.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 EE doesn't want to do it though. And apparently the HR Derby contestants have to be All-Stars, which is ********. So no Cespedes or Carter. There are no exciting young HR hitters on the All-Star team, so we'll probably be stuck with Bautista, Cano, Ortiz, Davis. Take Nelson Cruz and Adam Jones then. Having the exact same players every year is pretty silly.

JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 If Bautista is in it, any bets he goes on dl soon after ?
