Spoonovic Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yes or no? We all know all about the old Lind and his back injuries. Do we squeeze out a prospect or two for Lind at the deadline?
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I would.. this team sucks with or without him
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yes. Then when the team that trades for him doesn't pick up his options the Jays can always resign him for a cheaper cost, if they so choose.

Typical AA: rather than pick up his 7.5M option, he'll buy him out for 2M, then re-sign him for 5.25M. Save a few pennies while 10's of millions are wasted elsewhere
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I'm protesting this poll on the grounds that I think we probably should move him at the deadline, but I really don't wanna!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Sell high.
DwightDM Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I think "selling high" on Lind is having someone take his contract. Anything but that and we just eat it.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 He can probably fetch a top 100-75 prospect at this point considering his contract.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 We'll also have to take into account that whatever team he lands on, he'll get some good coaching for a few months and maybe learn something that forever makes him a better player. Then if he's a FA AA can swoop in and resign him. If not, then message board posters everywhere can forever lament his good play for another team along with Aaron Hill.
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yes. Package him and JP, let some other team deal with the dumbassery.

Gray and Blair already tested positive for Adderall prior to the draft but it doesn't matter? ADDERALL, a stimulant, is completely banned in all major professional sports. In hockey, there are No exemptions - no medical excuse! The Vancouver Canadians are facing 1st rounder Aaron Blair tonight who TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE STIMULANT ADDERALL and nobody cares? His representatives say it was a one-time thing - just like all of the other athletes say when they get caught! Why are these prospects given the pass?
Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Yes or no? We all know all about the old Lind and his back injuries. Do we squeeze out a prospect or two for Lind at the deadline? It's not exactly selling high anymore, Lind has been crud for 2-3 weeks now.
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 anyone who thinks we'll actually be sellers is out of their damn mind
IronLadle Verified Member Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Depends what is offered, I hope we don't just sell to rid the team of salary if the players offered are mediocre and same thing applies to not selling - if the jays are out of it by the deadline, I hope AA doesn't turn down good prospects with hope of going for it next year.
