Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Holy hell, it takes about 16 supercomputers to figure who the Raptors might face in the first round: https://www.nba.com/article/east-scenarios-2018-19-season I like the 7th and 8th scenario where Brooklyn and Orlando flip places based on whether Detroit or New York wins their game. I'm guessing some kind of 4th level tiebreaker s*** is going on there. I'm pretty indifferent to Brooklyn or Orlando. Both teams have occasionally stepped it up against good teams, both teams have had a better second half than first and the Raptors have generally handled both of them this year. I'd prefer to let Milwaukee handle Detroit. There is only one scenario where Detroit takes 7th seed.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Raps play 5pm on Saturday, then 8pm Tuesday. Not too bad!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Wow... the NBA doesn't reseed, so they're dumn as well.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Got tix to Game 1, so pumped for the playoff atmosphere.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I’m actually a LeBron defender but if they hire Tyronn Lue to be their coach that is just plain sad
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Is it too much to ask to see a steamrolling of the Magic this series, 4-0 or 4-1? It seems like the Raptors have had to struggle for every little playoff success they have had. The team has never lost less than two games in any playoff series.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 f*** LeBron. f*** the Lakers. I am happy to admit that I was totally wrong on how the Lakers' season would play out. But I really like where this is headed now. LeBron has a certain amount of respect for Lowry. The team should explore the possibility of raping the Lakers in a Lowry trade, including an unprotected first round pick if Leonard doesn't resign. It would have the potential to be a fast and painless "rebuild".

I think with Leonard, Green and Gasol, this will be a different playoff team than we have seen before. If DeMar was still here, it wouldn't shock me if it took them 6 or 7 games to beat a team like Orlando in Round 1 lol. I say Raps in 5.

LeBron wants to win now, so I'm sure he'll be open to moving some of the younger players on the Lakers in order to get better in the short term. Anthony Davis is still a possibility, and they could use a good PG whether its Lowry or Irving. I don't see Leonard being a fit in LA to be honest. If Leonard resigns with the Raps, I don't see Masai trading Lowry unless its a really solid return and if Lowry doesn't live up to expectations in the playoffs.

Oh yeah, I'm assuming this is the case only if Leonard goes west. A relatively painless rebuild would happen something like this: 1. Leonard goes west to the Clippers, Lowry traded to the Lakers. 2. Phoenix wins the draft so Williamson stays out of NY and Durant stays in the west. 3. Davis gets traded to Boston, we all concede next year to the Celtics, but that also costs them their future flexibility. Davis signs with LA the following year. 4. All the dogshit teams in the east remain dogshit so the Raptors pull off another 40+ win season and playoff appearance in a rebuild year. 5. Raptors clear their payroll and look ahead to recruiting Giannis with two middle to high first round picks (one from the Lakers) and a solid young core. Now enough of this talk, let's see the Raptors at least make it to the finals this year.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Almost time everybody. Let’s go Raps!

43211234 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Might as well fold the franchise if they lose this series!
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Good 3rd Q for the Raps. One point game with 12 minutes left
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 Refs did a pretty good job not giving Carter-Williams a technical there. Not sure what happened yet to give him such a pretty face.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 There's the difference between Kawhi and DeMar right there.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 The difference between Kawhi and DeKobe
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 why would you watch a sport when the winner is already almost guaranteed decided, and its not the team you cheer for despite having a great team. NBA is dog s***.
