burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 3/19 from 3 in the 2nd half also was a huge contributor to the loss.

As good as Patterson was, he missed a few key threes that were really good looks. All came back to the defense though clearly, 49 pts...(FT aided at the end but they were still getting 40 easily)

I mean D rose had a few shots where you really couldn't do much but there were way too many botched plays besides that.

When he's hitting that pull up 17 footer, there isn't anything you can do

I mean D rose had a few shots where you really couldn't do much but there were way too many botched plays besides that. I felt the raps just didn't push enough Into the paint in the second half. Yes the three ball shooting was awful, but that's what happens when you live me die with the three rather than attack the basket. Of course the whistles are going to go the Bulls way when they're driving to the rim the majority of the time in the second half, that's where you get all your foul calls. The raps were happy to take threes and long twos and thats just not going to get it done. Now it sucks that it was the second of a back to back facing a really good team, but that's what happens in this league and you have to suck it up. What sucks about the road trip....The Denver game also the second of a back to back, and that's a Game they should win.. But whe it's game 2 of a back to back.. At altitude... I dont like their chances. I'm seeing a 2-4 road trip and could quite easily be worse.

Lowry is really the only guy who's game is driving to the basket and JJ you could put in there as well. Lou and Ross are jumpshooters so you are gonna live and die with the jumpshot with those guys. I think both can improve on their shot selection (long 2s off the dribble should never be taken) I would say 2 wins on the road trip would be a success. GS POR and LAC are so damn good.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Horrible 4th quarter. Lack of rebounding on the 2nd unit killed them again (FFS just go get Hickson) and for whatever reason they stopped running plays for JV. The Bulls got a lot of favorable calls but you need to tip your hat to them.... they made their free throws. Oh well, it's a long season.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I loved the effort at the end of the game though despite the fact that they had no chance to win. Very admirable. They know that they s*** the bed that quarter and they tried to keep it as professional as possible. I think we'll win a couple on this trip.

Pretty good showing coming off a back to back, going against a team that was rested since friday. Disappointed with the outcome especially since they had the lead going into the fourth. They need to rest up and try to squeak out a few wins on this road trip.

Amir was completely useless yesterday... They need to find ways to get him days off on these back-to-backs. How can you play him 33 minutes against a horrible Knick team in the first game of a back-to-back? The coaching staff needs to be more careful in how they use this guy.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Atlanta has been really good. They don't really get talked about in the East but could easily upset one of those top 4 teams in the first round.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 East is getting better. With the raps, Cleveland, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington... The conference is looking up a bit.

Id say the 13th seed in the West right now, the Jazz, have as much talent as the Bucks who are 6th in the east right now.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Noah's such a great defender, he can even alter shots when he's not on the court https://mtc.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/2EBE6E4C5D1159007667310751744_3a8d1abe3f9.1.4.1419 9069613224739549.mp4?versionId=obMhwA7PeL41a6L3Mjw bNYX56Uvi4up3

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Yeah the top 5 in the East is pretty good but there is just a massive drop after that. 2 of the top teams are going to have to face each other in the 1st round so the top 3 is pretty important. Seems like the Raps match up pretty well with ATL but Chicago gives us trouble. ATL on the other hand matches up pretty well with Cleveland. For the first time in the while seems like both conferences are wide open. You could make an argument for 8 teams in the West to go to the finals and 3-4 teams in the East.

Atlanta is playing way over their heads. I just don't think this is sustainable.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Varejao may have a torn achilles. He's only been playing 24 MPG for Cleveland but that weakens their depth significantly.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Atlanta is playing way over their heads. I just don't think this is sustainable. I'm jealous of their coach. Budenholzer would probably school Casey in the playoffs.

Their recent performance might be a bit above their level but this is still a very good team in the East. They are one of the best passing teams and ball movement can beat anyone. Teague, Korver, Horford and Milsap are all legit and would be good players on a championship contender.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Noticed Josh Smith signed with the Rockets. Their defense is going to be pretty good now. Interesting to see how they use him on offence.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Aw was hoping he would go destroy an Eastern team.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Bruno to D-League
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Just get an affiliate ffs Why now though? Need roster space or something?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Just get an affiliate ffs Why now though? Need roster space or something? They probably just wanted him to polish his skills/learn English before sending him. The Rockets are shopping several guys (including Clint Capela) to make room for Smith... Maybe Masai has a pending deal
