Frag Verified Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Which parent left his/her computer on for his/her 6 year-old child to bash his head on the keyboard?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Anyways, Raptors Go Raptors Go
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Criticizing someone for taking long two's is perfectly valid when the player isnt a good shooter.
Frag Verified Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Anyways, Raptors Go Raptors Go Stop being so NEGATIVE!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 And having the best PG in the East is why the Raptors are having success, not DeRozan
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The NBA is so different than MLB. In the bigs you can afford to get away with paying a good player who has some serious warts 10M a year (People have no problem paying #2-3 starters 15+M) You pretty much can't do that in the NBA and expect to compete. DeRozan's contract isn't crazy bad it's definitely not crazy good either. Is he worth the money? Probably... but he needs to be more efficient with his shots and be a bigger contributor defensively. I don't understand why a guy who is so insanely athletic would just settle for mid range jumpers all day. Take the ball to the rack son.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Excuse me kid, but my post is on point. Seriously now, when one of you gets on here and posts this kind of reply its a huge joke. Trying to change what is actually occurring to match your fantasy of what you think is occurring deserves a swift slap on the side of the head to be perfectly honest. CAN WE HAVE A THREAD WHERE YOU DON'T GO OFF TOPIC AND POST THIS NEGATIVE s*** JUST BECAUSE THE MODERATORS ( SO FAR ) LET YOU ? Havok is complaining about Demar who averages 22 points a game ( among the leading NBA scorers list ), and just looking at the Portland game made something like 50% of his shots. Anyone who follows the Raptors to any degree knows it has been rare in the past that out so called stars shoot at a good percentage, guys like Rudy Gay throw up a lot of shots and rarely were efficient. Demar isn't always efficient but he's one of the reasons they are winning. Can we have one f***ing thread where your little petulant child act doesn't surface ? Is it too much to ask for ? Do you have ANY self control ? My god, you are such a f***ing idiot.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Criticizing someone for taking long two's is perfectly valid when the player isnt a good shooter. NO EVERY TORONTO TEAM IS PERFECT DeMAR DeROZAN IS PERFECT, LEAVE HIM ALONE. EVERY PLAYER IS AMAZING AND EVERY TORONTO TEAM IS THE BEST IN THEIR RESPECTIVE LEAGUES. IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE, I AM GOING TO ANTAGONIZE YOU, DERAIL THE THREAD AND WHINE ABOUT THE FACT THAT YOU CRITICIZE OUR GREAT PLAYERS
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Raps vs. Jazz should be pretty easy. Then they've got the Kings and the Clippers. Let's win 2/3.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Was that idiot talking about me? This is why the ignore function is needed. Saying you don't like his game and he should be taking it to the basket more doesn't mean I don't think he's useful, but he's settling for long range jumpers as a primary option rather than using that as the second or third option. He actually gets a ton of foul calls when he does go to the rack, so go there more...
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Raps vs. Jazz should be pretty easy. Then they've got the Kings and the Clippers. Let's win 2/3. First 2 are must wins, winning in LAC is very very unlikely
TRM Verified Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 3/5 on a Western trip would be massive.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Long time lurker of the NBA thread (not a fan), first time posting. And yet another thread derailed by CHP. So this just happened.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 lmfao @ "gorilla warfare" http://looter.livelyblog.com/files/2012/07/Gwarfare.jpg
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I just drank a Smirnoff rocket and I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoyed it.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Every time I use that, I remember that it's "Gorilla warfare," and I think about changing it, and then think about gorilla warfare, and leave it.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 So this just happened. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=520&d=1391473496
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Criticizing someone for taking long two's is perfectly valid when the player isnt a good shooter. It's like Blake Griffin shooting 10 shots from 3-point per game (Josh Smith?)
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Every time I use that, I remember that it's "Guerilla warfare," and I think about changing it, and then think about gorilla warfare, and leave it. Now it makes sense.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Beating Utah and Sacramento are musts. I don't think we have a chance against the Clippers but you never know.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Beating Utah and Sacramento are musts. I don't think we have a chance against the Clippers but you never know. Paul is out and Blake is taking long shots. Raptors +6
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Some tickets on Stubhub for this game are going for $1.33 per ticket. Yes, you can get into a professional basketball game in Utah for $1.33.

I'm seeing him taking it to the rack quite a bit.... and getting to the line a lot.

I'm seeing him taking it to the rack quite a bit.... and getting to the line a lot. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/derozde01/shooting/2014/ Numbers don't lie. A disproportionate amount of his shots are > 16 ft. Compare him to a guy like Wade (used 2012-2013 becaues he's hurt this year): http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wadedw01/shooting/2013/ Wade is what DeMar should be. DeMar is arguably a better athlete than a prime Wade was too. Wade has a weak jump shot but is ridiculously valuable close to the rim.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Raps should win tonight, lets go boys
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Not if they keep up this lazy effort. They started off great pounding it inside, then got the lead and suddenly nothing but mid to long 2's again....
theblujay Verified Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I actually don't mind Derozan taking a few long twos. Some games he really has a good feel for them.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 They're going to win this game but my god they cannot rebound. Val is truly horrible at grabbing contested boards. Man he just gets bullied around. 1 blocked shot in his last 5 games... lol....
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I actually don't mind Derozan taking a few long twos. Some games he really has a good feel for them. They're just low efficiency shots. His percentages are just so much higher closer to the rim. I don't think he's lazy, he just might be a bit scared of the contact.
