The NBA is so different than MLB. In the bigs you can afford to get away with paying a good player who has some serious warts 10M a year (People have no problem paying #2-3 starters 15+M)

 

You pretty much can't do that in the NBA and expect to compete. DeRozan's contract isn't crazy bad it's definitely not crazy good either. Is he worth the money? Probably... but he needs to be more efficient with his shots and be a bigger contributor defensively. I don't understand why a guy who is so insanely athletic would just settle for mid range jumpers all day. Take the ball to the rack son.

Havok is complaining about Demar who averages 22 points a game ( among the leading NBA scorers list ), and just looking at the Portland game made something like 50% of his shots. Anyone who follows the Raptors to any degree knows it has been rare in the past that out so called stars shoot at a good percentage, guys like Rudy Gay throw up a lot of shots and rarely were efficient. Demar isn't always efficient but he's one of the reasons they are winning.

Numbers don't lie. A disproportionate amount of his shots are > 16 ft.

Wade is what DeMar should be. DeMar is arguably a better athlete than a prime Wade was too. Wade has a weak jump shot but is ridiculously valuable close to the rim.

They're going to win this game but my god they cannot rebound. Val is truly horrible at grabbing contested boards. Man he just gets bullied around.

They're just low efficiency shots. His percentages are just so much higher closer to the rim. I don't think he's lazy, he just might be a bit scared of the contact.
