Pretty much every Yankee scrap heap addition has been awful: Wells, Overbay, Nix, Ichiro, Youkilis, Francisco, Boesch, Brignac etc... Not one has more than 0.3 fWAR. Pretty much just Hafner has been good.

 

And yet the Yanks are 11 games above .500 they're doing something right.

Wells has really dove off a cliff since I last checked his numbers, but Overbay has been solid for what theyre paying him. I was exgerating by calling them all stars but at least they are contributing, unlike some of the guys we went out and gave multi year contracts to
