G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Sweet! This bullpen is going to be stacked

theblujay Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yes! The 2nd return of Dustin. Him and Marcum were the first young pitchers I remember following as the made the Jays. Then it was Romero, Cecil and Brad Mills...
oakville69 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Excellent news!. I was honored to see Dusty's return to the MLB in September 2011 against the Red Sox. The poor guy has spent more time on the DL than as an active player with the Jays. Having him back this year will help the Jays make .500.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 So who is gonna go down when Oliver is ready? I'd wager the Perez guy.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 McGowan 3rd chance McGowan is one of my favorite pitcher. Great stuff and good present on the mount.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Trade Oliver to the Angels. For nothing less than Trout, I presume! Oliver to LAA or TEX is somewhat likely though, I'd definitely support it (even if we missed the boat by about a year).

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I'll take any Org's #10-15 prospect for Oliver any day of the week. That's the thing. I don't think they'd give that. Epiphany: Oliver for Alex Yarbrough. Yarbrough plays a lot like Pedroia on Boston and would give us at least a DECENT 2B prospect. I would love that, thinking about it.

Oliver to LAA or TEX is somewhat likely though, I'd definitely support it (even if we missed the boat by about a year). Tex was my first choice, but their BP is doing pretty well. Fieri's only blown one save in LA, but also has a 6.31 BB/9, though I'm sure they wouldn't give Oliver the job. If Oliver can look close to what he did last year, he could probably bring a decent prospect in return.

I remember that magical 2007 season, AJ healthy,Marcum throwing 7 innings of 1 hitter and Dusty fulfilling on his talent before the dreaded rotater cuff surgery.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 No surprise. Crawford's got an ERA of nearly 6 in New Hampshire. Easy DFA candidate. Likely he gets outrighted--no one's claiming him with those numbers. When Wang comes to the team and Oliver is activated, the likely moves are: Lincoln and Perez to AAA, one of Storey, Weber or Schwimmer DFAed. Wagner's pitching too well to send down. Of course, both Perez and Wagner are pitching very well--Jays are going to have some tough decisions.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yep. He's on the lineup card out of the bullpen.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 It seems like a surplus of good relief options, maybe trade one or 2 for a position player for a change AA?
Dude Verified Member Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Beat it to me!! Oh yeah he'll beat it to you alright!! I'm excited bout the call up too but come on man get a hold of yourself
