Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Morrow is what he is, an up and down career .500 pitcher.....Anyone who has been praising him as anything more is simply a homer. He's almost 30, he is not getting any better. There is a lot more to pitching then having good stuff. He cannot consistently put it together. He still can become an ace pitcher, but he has to master the changeup and actually use it.
johannson Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Morrow is suppose to be our #2? Right? Our rotation is s***...Morrow can only beat Seattle lol Yeah, making him our #2 (ahead of Johnson and Beuhrle) was supposed to be a way of showing him how good management thought he was and could be...think that viewpoint is probably changing pretty quickly
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Our offence is just so s*** this year... Aside from that San Fran series, it's been abysmal
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 He's overachieving but he could be a late bloomer. He has some serious power. So does JPA... Serious power isn't enough to be good, he's got to be heavily invested in horseshoes to be having a start to his season like this.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Please, PLEASE use a better stat than wins to complain... You have a legit argument that he's not as good as he could be, but using WINS to make your point? Not going to fly with this crowd. The argument stands, over many years yes it is a good stat, he is good and bad in 1 start from the next and sometimes from 1 inning to the next, he's 30, he is what he is He is a middle to back end rotation guy.
Shogun89 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Amazes me how other teams seem to have so many good young starters who contribute right away, and young players in general, we have none. Maybe it's because we trade them all away for 50 year old knuckleballers and injury prone 1 season wonders.
Clownthopoulos Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 still loving the morrow for league trade? at least we wouldnt have given league 40mil
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Thanks God Utley DL. Ruben Amaro on Utley: recovery should take 2-4 weeks Aaron Sanchez for Utley cancel
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Wh are they taking pitches over the middle of the plate? Good teams can grind out runs against good pitchers, it seems this team just goes dead way to easy, this offense is horrendous.

Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Jays take way too many good pitches and swing at too many bad ones it's infuriating.
