fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 That boxscore is squirly... Are they? dammit I tried to line it up as best I can, my bad :/
Dude Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Clutchtista Jose should try and harness this to boost the rest of the team, hitting approach wise. That was great. Gnarls is pretty decent good luck charm lol
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Good game. Bautista showing a better approach and its really starting to pay off.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Could this be the start of the turn around? Doubt it... We say it all the time, only to be let down
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista had more total bases today than the entire Rays team combined. If I did my maths correctly, his slash line went from .254/.376/.515 to .275/.394/.572.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Good to see Bautista play well... but the rest of the hitters are concerning.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 He's clearly added the opposite-field single with two strikes to his game, has done that a lot recently. Yup and its quite noticeable too. It's what all the truly great hitters do and it appears Bautista has figured it out. Could pay off huge dividends throughout the rest of the season.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Great game for Bautista and Buehrle today! JP and Laurie need to wake up or else this team is doomed.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Great game! Bautista rules! Jays are 3-0 when I attend games. Just sayin'
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Now boarding flight from Toronto to Dublin Ireland. Can't wait to get there! I'll have a Guinness or 10 for you Fatcow
Caper Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Whatever...that was an awesome game to watch.. .ive come to accept maybe this is not the year we make the playoffs.. but if we continue to play well I see no reason to blow up the team....we could use a better bench that's for certain...i always wanted to have one of those teams that have those good vets for sub's.. .like when the yanks had Andrew Jones etc etc. Id like to have something like carlos Lee or berkman on our bench.. lol Only 6.5 games out of a wildcard spot.... that with being 8 games below .500. Still a big chance.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 jays win and make up for Izturis brain fart. baby steps.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista's avg is up to .275. It was under .200 not too long ago.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista's avg is up to .275. It was under .200 not too long ago. they are getting better one hitter at a time. hopefully Lawrie and JPA are on that list soon.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I was a fan of the Izturis signing and I think his offense will come around as his hits start to fall, but this unexpectedly shaky defense is becoming a problem. Still think he's the best option for the time being though. I was in and out watching this game but Buehrle looked like he was staying on the corners quite well, and came away with a very solid pitching line. Just needs to keep the home runs in check and he'll be fine. Janssen got BABIP'd in the ninth, with Longoria's Vladimir Guerrero style double and Loney's weak grounder through the middle, so I was glad to see him get picked up by his offense.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 ...only to be let down Hey, it's what being a fan is all about.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista's avg is up to .275. It was under .200 not too long ago. And he leads the team in walks. His OBP must be good again too.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista should have earned 1 WAR in this game alone (I realize it doesn't work that way but he literally won the game by driving in every single run)

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Darn I fell asleep, missed the exciting end BAUTISTA!
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Haha! That sounds awesome man, enjoy your time there I will. As long as I can find some golf and beer. I hear that have those things there.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 So Bautista's wOBA is now 0.408. This guy is a f***ing machine. Yep. Everybody re-attach to his jock now.

SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Bautista was huge, but the buehrle performance was even bigger, a few more starts like that and a NL club desperate for pitching at the deadline might go for him. Even if we're back in the race, this is a salary AA needs to dump!

Right now, I would much prefer Bonifacio at 2B to Izturis. Boni and Kawasaki turning the double plays well right now.
