Yankees:

  • The Yankees set an American League record for most wins when scoring first to start a season with their 18-0 record when scoring first
  • The Yankees have won 9 straight games against the Jays in Yankees Stadium dating back to last year
  • Sabathia's last game against the Jays helped the Yankees sweep the Jays in a 4 game set. Now he has the chance to help the Yanks sweep the Jays in this 3 game set.

 

Jays:

  • Josh Johnson is scheduled to take the mound for the Dunedin Blue Jays on Monday. Gibbons has stated before that he needs 3 rehab starts before he returns to the Majors
  • Marcus Stroman will make his first appearance of the season tonight, starting for AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats as his
  • Jose Bautsita's struggling against CC going 2/23 but Adam Lind on the other hand has a rare lefty matchup, going 7/15 against the Yankees' southpaw

I wish I could turn back the clock to undo all the damage AA did in the offseason.

 

Seriously though.. I could live with the miami trade but not the dickey trade.. We would still have travis and buck would be catching instead of jp!

This team's starters have pitched like you would expect a bunch of youngsters, except they're old as heck and get paid like a bunch of money.

I didn't like taking on Buehrle's contract from the get-go, at least AA should've given up 1 less prospect because of it, but oh well. Giving up D'Arnaud and Syndergaard was just nuts, well, more like dumb as s##t

How about less than 4.50...

 

 

With a good start, Dickey's ERA may come close to this, but not counting on it, young pitchers are inconsistent.

I would like to ask AA why Blanco is on this team and why Thole is still in AAA.

Well that's an obvious question.

 

Blanco is phenomenal at catching the knuckleball. He just has what it takes to do the job. :confused:

Game postponed. Dickey vs. Odorizzi tomorrow afternoon vs. the Rays. One of Jenkins or Ortiz will stay in the bullpen(likely Jenkins)

 

This is actually a good thing for the Jays--they have time to rest for a big home stand vs. the Rays, Orioles and Braves(I'll be at the Orioles game, BTW)

For once we get to face a team next that isn't in desperate need of winning a series. Tampa is about to sweep Baltimore so they will be due for a loss or two
