Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Hopefully those scrubs on New York return to earth...Seriously if Vernon Wells or Overbay start pounding us again I'm gonna lose it.
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 To me, good pitching and the yankees don't belong in the same sentence this year. That Kuroda guy is garbage and he is achieving wayyyyyyy over his head. It's about that time when he starts getting pounded game in and game out. CC is still good and Pettite isn't bad, but the rest of their rotation sucks ass. Just like the bosox, this team is going to start a losing streak soon and a bad one at that. Nothing on their team dictates to me that they will be able to continue on this pace. The entire lineup is playing over their heads with the exception of Cano. If we play good defense and keep up the timely hitting, two out of three won't be all that difficult. And the last time R.A faced C.C, we had the lead late and blew it. Can't let that happen again.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 On the topic of the Yankees series... how about Vernon Wells. Never thought he would be having the year he's having. he played second base last night for an inning. After already playing 3rd base earlier this year
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 We need the first game. If we win the first game I think we win the series with a chance to sweep on Sunday. If we don't win the first game there is a good chance that we loose the series. Hard to say now with the bats coming alive the past week though. way to go out on a limb
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 he played second base last night for an inning. After already playing 3rd base earlier this year Let's get him back! For what was it.. 145M over 8?
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 He's kinda good. His career number are pretty decent, I just find he's way overrated. He seems to keep it together for a stretch and then blows up for a bit, but his overall numbers are fairly impressive. I'm not quite sure why though, because to me, his stuff isn't up to par with an above average pitcher. As a hitter, I'd sit and wait for soft stuff from him because his fastball isn't good enough to beat you. His command is good though, but I'd definately wait for off speed from this type of pitcher and tee off. They had him on the ropes last time out and let off the gas. I just don't see him as any better than a .500 pitcher.
