LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Thanks for reminding us we took Jenkins over Trout sportsnet
magits Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Interesting that JP has gotten to a 3-2 count in 1/7 of his at-bats this year (19 total times I believe). If he walked in half of those, his overall walk rate and obp would actually be pretty good. That's really interesting. That says to me that it's an approach problem rather than a pitch recognition problem. He probably thinks "I'm the catcher so all I need to do is PRODUKSHUN" and thinks walks are for sissys.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Gibby must've promised Jenkins a lifetime supply of Twinkies if he pulled this one out THIS OBESE YOUNG MAN WANTS WINS WTF are you talking about now? He barely has any fat on him.

I've also noticed he's gotten deeper into count, one can only hope he'll get comfortable in said counts and with time, walks will follow.
Tuco Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I just saw that Jiminez is back playing and doing well (small sample size) .375 avg, OPS over 1.037 I wonder if he could finish the year at AAA. Considering his age I dont think its far fetched we could see him in the majors at some point next season.
cesarb182 Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 At least Jenkins is throwing a strike when it's full count
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 we need an Ellsbury. We got one, reyes, he just happened to take a weirs slide and got injured.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Bautista actually does something. Keep it moving guys. Bautista .314 .438 .400 .838 in May. How does a 50K poster turn into a troll?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 That was the perfect display of how this season has gone.. LOL
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Holy f***ing s*** that was a lucky ass bunt... it actually looked like it went out at a point
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 The jays seem to have no luck, get a lead the the other team gets weak hits.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Omg the toronto blue jays just induced a double play
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Jenkins (JP Ricciardi) >>> McGuire (AA)
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Jenkins looks really good, throws strikes, low in the zone, getting ground balls.
