oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Janssen, I have a man crush on you lol. Dude is a boss. I had the pleasure of meeting Casey Janssen at the Blue Jays Camp out at Rogers Centre in May 2011. He was very friendly & said they were doing everything possible to get JoJo Reyes his first win of the year. Casey has been incredible as a closer . Jays fans have had to suffer bad closers with Coco , John Rauch , bad BJ Ryan, Kevin Gregg etc.. When Casey is on the mound my blood pressure goes down.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 38 posts in the old forum GDT, lol. LOL. I bet that its one guy talking to himself under 10 different accounts.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 what's the over/under for runs Jenkins gives up tomorrow? Probably something like 5.5
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 He has proven he can't hit lefty pitching and that was why we had to get a RHB to platoon . Gomes got too much money but there were bats out there that would have worked . LInd is a platoon player period . I give a s*** what Zaun thinks Zaun thinks? since when??? http://blogimages.thescore.com/djf/files/2012/12/zaunbathroom.jpg

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Thanks....if he hits well all year against RHP'ing I'd still pick that up. I'd rather go after a legit 1st baseman.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Probably something like 5.5 I'd take the over if he gets past the 3rd. he might only give up 4, but get lifted in the 3rd. lol not very optimistic.

I give a s*** what Zaun thinks Disagree, players CAN improve, with improve patience and an eye at the plate he has shown to be a good hitter so far this year, run him out there see what he can do. Bautista was a bench player until he was almost 30..... Lind looks a lot better then he ever has this year. The jays are just pigeon holing lind as a platoon player, who else on the bench is better? lol, our bench is horrid.
johannson Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I doubt Buehrle is pissed off not getting the win,he pitched his best game this season, the jays won..he's feeling pretty good about himself.. here's hoping he's turned the corner and will be good for the rest of his starts. agreed...can't worry about individual stats when wins are as hard as they are to come by right now...take the win however we can get it
kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Every time he starts against LHP is a mistake . Lind is a platoon player period and even if he hits them batter than he ever has I will still think he is a platoon player .
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Lind only looks good because he's being used properly for the first time in our idiot GM's tenure. He's a platoon bat. He has a career 0.267 wOBA vs. LHP. Gibby is actually kind of smart and has only given him 4 PA vs. LHP this year, and so Lind is successful. This isn't a "new Lind", just a Lind being used properly. Disagree, his approach is vastly better then he has been in the past, seeing the ball well, not swinging at balls out of the zone, taking it the other way, waiting for his pitch. HE should get a shot everyday.
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 ... Janssen seems like he has nerves of steel, good win. Janssen comes out of the pen, not only with a game plan but, with a true sense of determination to get his allotted outs. He knows his role and sets about doing it as quickly and efficiently as possible. What a great job!!!

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Congrats to Mark Buehrle for actually showing up to the ballpark for the first time this year.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Prob my fave Jay right now guy is a boss. Probably the only Jay right now actually living up to expectations.

What was bautistas career wOBA before the jays started him everyday and he improved his approach? He can hit the ball the other way, seeing the ball well, hes no worse then the trash on the bench.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Hopefully our manager is smarter than that. Lind has extreme platoon splits - the platoon works. You can't get fooled by the shiny slash line and start playing him to his weaknesses. could Sierra be the other half of that platoon???
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 That's a stupid and utterly irrelevant question. It's totally relevant, it shows just because he struggle before doesn't mean with a better approach he cannot improve.................Lind is a totally different hitter right now. Ny that logic the jays should have just kept Bautista as a platoon player.
johannson Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Bonifacio is a hot pile of garbage. I had to go to the door to meet the pizza guy, what did bonafacio do that i missed? i know that question may seem rhetorical considering its bonafacio, but seriously can someone fill me in!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 We'll see about that Oh we did see about that Casey = $$$
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 3rd time, just saying. only took 6 weeks to get a solid start from anyone.
johannson Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 now can we just hire Kawasaki as a mascot and get him away from the field LOL, brilliant!
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I don't personally think so, but you never know. I'd like to see Mauro Gomez given a shot. Mauro Gomez has Ruiz 2.0 written all over him.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 We'll give GSnarls credit as the slump buster. Now he just has to go to all road games and show up 3 innings late despite a rain delay F#%k yeah. I got this. Unless game is in Detroit or Oakland.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I don't personally think so, but you never know. I'd like to see Mauro Gomez given a shot. need someone who splits well against lefties and can back up a position. some pop in the that split and it would be a great bench/DH option. team needs that.
