If you look at it realistically the season is already over.

Let's say we need 92 wins to get a play-off spot.

That means we need to go at least 79-49 the rest of the way (92-13 = 79) (128 games left to play).

Which means we need to have a W-L% of .617.

To put that in perspective we need to play even better than the best team in baseball last year, the Nationals who has a .605 W-L%.

So unless we have angels in the outfield and all of our players are drinking the special juice we might as well start looking forward to 2014.

The Cardinals and A's both had 10-20 30 game stretches last year and both made the playoffs. Kindly shut the f*** up and take your Debbie Downer trolling to the old board.

We know this already, in fact this has been posted on the old forum numerous times. It can happen but yes, it's likely the bad start killed the season.

Afetr saying that, it is not impossible for this team to go 27-14 like the less talented jays team from 2 season ago, that would put us in good shape.

the tigers were under .500 in July last year and made it to the world series, but you're right, the season is over...dumn

Lol, no one gives a f***. Just enjoy the damn ride and hope we play quality baseball. Until we're mathematically eliminated, there's a chance.

How can something that has not happened yet be fact? It is fact many teams made the playoffs with having as bad as stretches, ours just happened to be at the start of the season. Heck the 2010 jays went 27-14, had way less talent, so yes it can happen. I don't think it will buy saying the season is over like it's a fact is moronic.

That was a very Arencibian hash tag, lol.

It's not a definite fact yet, by the way.

I understand that sports fans prefer to have their head in the clouds.

Rogers Corporation love fans like you.

THE TORONTO BLUE JAYS WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

?? I said I don't think it will happen, are you just trying to troll? Everything I posted was fact. Answer, if the 2010 jays went 27-14 why can't this team? That would put this team right back in the hunt, please answer that?

You don't appear to understand very much at all.

Didn't say it was a fact, said I stated facts.

I dunno if you know this but....You need starting pitching to win baseball games. The blue jays don't have that. It will be impossible for them to win at a pace to make the playoffs in the AL East. It is over. Deal with it.

Umm I am dealing with it, the jays pitching might GASP improve? Those other teams that had bad stretches their pitching struggles, GASP. It's called a slump lol Again did yuo miss the part I sound it's unlikely? It is a fact however that it happens often that team do make the playoffs with bad stretches in their seasons.... These are facts, so no its not impossible, not likely but not impossible.

You seem to be the one who needs to deal with it. You desperately have to convince everyone else to believe your BS.

The season is over blahahblah

OK. please tell me how the pitching situation will change. I want to see the scenario you have in your brain.

This isn't a "bad stretch". It's a bad team.

Umm dickey, buerhle, morrow just have to pitch to their norms and it will be improved............................. It happens. Again, the 2010 jays with little talent went 27-14. It can happen. JJ is also a wild card. Again i said it's unlikely, but to say the season is over now is moronic, when there are dozens of examples of teams with worse stretches making a run.

The A's went from now until the end of season, 78-52 with a .600%.

If the A's can do that, surely we have the potential to better it.

We're 6.5 games back from the wild card with 128 games left.

It's not going to be easy, but it's not impossible.

One glaring flaw I see in this is the assumption that we have to win 92 games. You don't know that. Other teams can suck, too, not just us, and if we only need to win 88/89 to get to a wildcard spot, that's fairly attainable. Some major competition in the Angels have floundered, and the A's just lost Reddick.

Making the playoffs will be tough, but is it impossible? No.

AA won't take Bonafacio out of the line up and you trust this team to make the decisions that need to be made in order to go over .600% winning for the rest of the year? C'mon.

Well, when you're predicted to win the world series, and have the best odds in Vegas, there just might be a chance... considering... you know... those numbers in Vegas weren't just pulled out of a hat.

Posted
The Jays are in the AL East. Did you hear?

thanks smart ass, the AL east could also be crowned to a team with 88 wins this season, didnt you hear?

Boni has started only 1 of the last 5 games, but hey, keep spitting garbage, by all means

Vegas made those juicy numbers so that dumbasses from Toronto make bets. I'm willing to bet that Vegas will make a killing this year on morons who bet the blue jays to win the world series. Vegas saw the Rogers hype and capitalized. Many baseball insiders knew that the blue jays had no depth at all.

Well, uh, they probably make a killing every year since it's almost impossible to predict who's going to win.

Nothing a 16 and 4 / 17 and 3 run wouldn't fix . Offense is showing signs of coming alive (except Lawrie ) and these two comeback wins plus Happ ,s injury not being serious may just kickstart this team . Certainly have the potential to go one a run like that if this offense goes into high gear .
