declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Thought we'd keep them together as they come in. "I think the last indication was that he was alert and feeling better and had gone for a CT scan. That's the last I heard," Toronto pitcher R.A. Dickey said. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Happ+hospital+after+head/8353511/story.html#ixzz2ShBEVRqU Dickey looked seriously concerned on tv. Unlike Yunel, the maricon.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I can't believe how happy I am that Escobar is gone. Even with Reyes out.
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Barry Davis @SNBarryDavis Brett Lawrie says Happ was talking to the guys while he was laying on the field. Said there was a gash behind his ear. #bluejays
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi Jose Bautista on Happ: “From what it sounds like so far, he’s in stable condition, he’s conscious and that’s all we know so far.” #BlueJays
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I'd expect a real update with diagnosis by mid morning today
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I'd expect a real update with diagnosis by mid morning today I really hope he's ok. most of the game I felt just horrible. even winning didn't feel as good as it should have. jays were finally showing some life and... and poor Happ. jays showed heart to pull that win out yesterday.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 JA Happ in good condition this morning, may be released from hospital today. #BlueJays announcement expected shortly.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Released? So perhaps there is no fracture? Just concussion and swelling?
Dude Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Ya maybe next time that one idiot won't spam 15 times in different threads how Happ has a 50% chance of dying. "Oh bro, I can speculate my Girl's in med school"
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Good news!!! @ShiDavidi: JA Happ in good condition this morning, may be released from hospital today. #BlueJays announcement expected shortly.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 @TBTimes_Rays: #Jays Happ says he's in "good spirits," looking forward to "getting back out there soon." Could be released today http://t.co/QbPdjLjr7k

It Will be even more special if we can come out of this road trip with a positive record.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 You know what? He's probably really lucky he got hit right on the ear. It must have hurt like Hell and it bled a lot but that's WAY better than getting it on the forehead, temple or the back of the skull.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 @ShiDavidi: In statement released through hospital, Happ says: “I’m in good spirits, I definitely appreciate the support of the baseball community ...Happ continued: "...It’s been overwhelming the messages and kind words I’ve been getting. I just want to thank everyone for that "... and I look forward to getting back out there soon."
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 So it sounds fairly promising, that's good news. Never like to see stuff like that happen to anyone.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Notice no statement on when he can pitch again. If it's just a bump on the noggin wouldn't they lay out an estimate? No way, it's way too early. He hasn't even been released yet. None of us know the severity and it's foolish to speculate at this point.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Blue Jays say he could be released from hospital as early as today..... which mean he will probably be in the hospital till June.
Dude Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Don't tell him that, he's been full speculator mode since about 8:30 p.m last night. Lucid intervals, done pitching forever, 20% of dying, bleeding of the the middle meningeal artery, Epidural hematoma etc.. All speculation, didn't even know where exactly the ball hit him.
Dude Verified Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I'm stupid? You're dumbass forgot to mention that only 1-3 percent of head injuries result in bleeding of the brain OF WHICH 15-20% are fatal. What's your calculation actually make that of Happ dying when he gets hit in the head with a baseball? hmm?

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 J.A. Happ expected at Tropicana Field this afternoon, and meet with media about his injury
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 J.A. Happ expected at Tropicana Field this afternoon, and meet with media about his injury I that is true, then wow. Lucky

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I don't want to get too hopeful, but he/Jays may have dodged a bullet here.
