other suggestions:

maybe provide a scouting report for both pitchers as well as a hot/cold comparison for hitters vs the pitcher as well as a brief preview for each team (did they just sweep and on a hot streak? Do they have lots of injured players?)

Not my fault, BaseballPress released their lineups ~10mins before I posted the GDT. Oh and yeah I was supposed to do the scouting reports but ran out of time today :/

Love the fact that Gibby is mixing things up going with Blanco. Would prefer it to be Thole, but at least it shows signs that Gibby understands their are fundamental issues with JPA.

Stubbornness? I don't know, it really boggles the mind. The excuses I keep hearing are that Thole needs to get regular reps to keep him fresh in case something happens to JPA. I have a hard time believing that Thole couldn't backup JPA right now and step in to take over the role if needed.

 

At this point it should be a 50/50 split between Thole and JPA and then evaluate the better option from there.

Agree with above posters, need Thole here now, Blanco isn't a major league caliber catcher anymore and JPA has great power but his defensive issues are pretty well established at this point, Thole should be a nice medium.

My girlfriend's borther ran into AA in the washroom at one of the outlet malls in buffalo this morning. They had a good baseball conversation after.

Two things I took from this.

1. AA hasn't gone insane and still talks to random fans.

2. AA is worried about his future and is already be careful with his spending by shopping at the outlet mall.

From everything I have heard about Thole and the few times I have seen him catch, he should be a nice upgrade defensively over JPA overall. Plus he gets on base at a decent clip. Something this team dearly needs. We have enough power in the lineup, we need guys on base.

I really think Buehrle is going to do well tonight. That Rays lineup does not instill any fear whatsoever. Hopefully Buehrle can give us one of his Buehrle like starts tonight and give this team a chance to get some wins under their belt.
